The Village Voice sums up the renewed campaign of Brooklyn District Attorney Charles J. Hynes by deconstructing Hynes’ big lie about opponent Ken Thompson – that he hired convicted felon and former Brooklyn Democratic Party head Clarence Norman to run his campaign. I paraphrase:
• Hynes was very close to Norman.
• Hynes investigated Norman and convicted him on several (minor) public corruption-related charges.
• Hynes later hired a Norman protégé, Taharka Robinson, to run his 2013 campaign – a protégé whom Hynes had investigated as part of the Norman scandal and who was even then already a convicted felon.
• Even so, Hynes now criticizes his opponent Ken Thompson – who trounced Hynes in the Democratic primary – for hiring Norman to run his campaign, even though Thompson strongly denies hiring Norman and even though there is no credible evidence or proof that Norman is or was running Thompson’s campaign.
• Hynes spokesman Brad Gerstman – the author of "What Men Want – Three Professional Single Men Reveal to Women What Takes to Make a Man Yours" – refused to answer specific questions about Hynes’ hiring of Robinson.
• Hynes did not return an email from the Voice asking him for comment on Robinson.
• Hynes, Gerstman, Jerry Schmetterer and other Hynes spokesmen and proxies continue to spread the lie about Thompson hiring Norman anyway.
Meanwhile, Michael Powell of the New York Times lists a few of Charles J. Hynes’ recent lies, starting with his biggest lie of all:
• “Mr. Hynes spoke of his surprising decision to reverse himself and run again against Kenneth P. Thompson, who had beaten him by a broad margin in the Democratic primary. ‘Right after Primary Day, I said I would not run unless there were financial resources and a clear path to victory,’ he told The Daily News columnist Denis Hamill. ‘I didn’t see either at first.’
“As Mr. Hynes, 78, describes it, a miracle happened. Well-wishers demanded: Run, Joe, run, and offered contributions. His concern with Mr. Thompson’s inexperience grew. Eventually, for the good of Brooklyn, this liberal Democrat felt compelled to run on the Republican and Conservative Party lines.

“On election night, Mr. Hynes, his face hound-dog long, peered mournfully at the cameras and, in fact, offered no caveat. He had been trounced and he promised to work with Mr. Thompson.…
“Seven days later…[Hynes’] election committee laid out $600 for a general election fund-raiser at Ginger’s Bar and $2,000 for a political consultant.…”
And what did Hynes use to justify his bald-faced lie to Thompson, promising Thompson – and the public – that he would not run in the general election? Telling Thompson and the public that he wanted nothing more than to effect a smooth transition for Thompson and offering Thompson office space nearby his to assure it?
• “Confidants whispered that Mr. Hynes had been shocked to discover that Clarence Norman Jr., the former Democratic boss whom he had successfully prosecuted, may have volunteered for his opponent,” Powell reported.
Hynes then quickly upped “volunteered” to Norman ‘running’ Thompson’s campaign.
In other words, Hynes sidestepped his previous big lie by – lying again.
Hynes is like CSL, damaged goods and as such, Satmar doesn't need them anymore.

I'm not sure this is what his well wishers meant by "Run, Joe, run." Did they happen to be pointing to Canada at the time?
His mouth is going to have to be disengaged from his cold dead hands. He's a one trick pony.
