2 Abducted Children

Daniel Jakob (aged 7) and Jonathan (aged 5) Neustadt. Abducted from London, UK December 25, 2012 by their non-custodial father Ilya Neustadt (aka Ilja Vadimvic, Ilja Neyshtadt, Ilja Neystadt, Ilja Neishtadt). Last seen in Moscow, Russia in June.

Case Updates:

27 September 2013 On the final day, day 15, the father submitted his appeal petition to the Moscow City Court. It is now for the court to set a new hearing date.

11 September 2013 Moscow City Court rules to recognize the UK High Court Return orders demanding the return of the two children to England. This decision was made according to the applicable law procedures set forth by the 1996 Hague Convention on Jurisdiction for the Protection of Children. This is the first application of the Convention in Russia as well as in the UK. The ruling will come into force in Russia in 15 days if no appeal is made.

Hmmm... I don't see the ethically-challenged Berel Lazar anywhere here. Is the Chief Rabbi and Head Chabadnik in Russia:

(a) helping the mother bring the situation into compliance with international law and forcing the kidnapper to let the her see the children?
(b) ignoring the situation and hoping it will go away? or
(c) actively aiding the criminal to avoid the law and keep the children from the mother?

so, easy... this being Chabad,... it's gotta be (c).
