Rabbi Ovadia Yosef's Condition Further Deteriorates
Sefardi haredi leader Rabbi Ovadia Yosef's condition has reportedly dangerously deteriorated.
Yosef – a former Sefardi chief rabbi of Israel and the spiritual head and founder of the Sefardi haredi Shas political party – is in a medically-induced coma and on life support at Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.
A number of Yosef's organs have reportedly gone into failure, and a drug had to be administered to raise the rabbi's blood pressure to a safe level.
The 93-year-old rabbi had a cardiac pacemaker inserted two days ago.
People are asked to pray for Ovadia Haim Yosef ben Giorgia.
Yesterday they painted such a rosey picture of his condition.
I guess the frumma lied. What a surprise.
Hope he does not suffer any more pain.

@WSC
They have already named a successor (Rav Amar) - someone near the top is a realist.

any successor will just be a placeholder till one of his sons is annointed.

What's a pressor? And why don't they want anyone to know how ill he is?

A pressor (short for vasopressor) is a medical slang term for an intravenous medication used to increase the blood pressure, either by constricting your blood vessels and/or making your heart beat stronger and faster.
Strictly speaking, a vasopressor constricts your blood vessels.
A 'pressor', as used by docs and nurses as a slang term, means a drug that either constricts your blood vessels and/or makes your heart beat stronger and faster; in either case, the goal is to raise blood pressure and improve perfusion of vital organs.
In a 93 year old man who just had a pacemaker put in, now finds himself on a respirator, and is receiving infusions of pressors, the prognosis is poor, regardless of etiology.

Thank you. And they don't want anyone to know he's on death's doorstep because what? They are hiding or destroying documents, valuables, money, or they just don't want ppl to get freaked out? Or they don't want to lose power? Or is it just a Jewish thing to stay alive forever?

The robots must not find out that the Grand Poobah is actually human. It could lead to thinking and questioning, which could lead to internet pornography and mixed dancing.
Keep the mushrooms in the dark, and feed them manure.
When Schneerson was in the Beth Israel ICU, I was working in the ICU at Columbia Presbyterian. Every ICU doc in NYC was friends with each other, and at the time, many of us were heimishe yids. My buddies at BI were telling me that Schneerson was already just a body on machines and pressors. Meanwhile, my Chabad rabbi was telling me the Rebbe was still communicating at bedside, answering questions and making executive decisions at Chabad meetings being held in his room.
