Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein announced tonight that that there is no legal reason to bar Police Brigadier General Effie Bracha from being appointed as the head the Israel Police Elite Fraud Unit, Arutz Sheva reported.
Weinstein reportedly said that an extensive investigation showed there was no basis at all to claims of wrongdoing in the Fraud Unit's investigation of famous Sefardi haredi ‘kabbalist’ Rabbi Yoshayahu Yosef Pinto and his wife.
Pinto allegedly tried to bribe Bracha to obtain information about a criminal probe into one of his charities which was caught stealing from Holocaust survivors. Bracha reported the attempted bribe to his supervisors who later caught Pintos’ wife on tape delivering the alleged bribe money. She and her husband were arrested and, soon after, she tried to commit suicide.
The Pinto’s face bribery, fraud, money laundering and related charges.
If convicted, the Pinto’s each face possible lengthly prison terms.
Rabbi Pinto is also said to be under criminal investigation in the US for crimes related to money laundering, fraud, and campaign finance violations.

He should be very afraid of going to prison.
Because Pintos have a tendency to explode when hit in the rear.
