Israel used to be known for its collective settlements, known as kibbutzim (kibbutz; singular) and the often hard nosed secular pioneers that inhabited them. These sabras (prickly pears) drained Israel’s swamps and made its desert bloom, and they fought Israel’s wars – often on the front lines in commando units.
But decades later, Israel is now known for its high tech and for its state-of-the-art military with its drone warfare. The few kibbutznik farmer-commandos that remain are often viewed quaint throwbacks to a simpler time or as simple anachronisms.
But maybe not any more.
Israel’s Kibbutz Movement has launched a protection program for haredi soldiers who need to enter the Jerusalem haredi neighborhood of Mea Shearim, the Jerusalem Post reported, where three haredi soldiers have been physically attacked by haredim in the past ten days alone.
Male volunteers from the Kibbutz Movement will meet any haredi soldiers who want an escort at the intersection of Sarei Yisrael Street and Rashi Street.
The kibbutzniks will escort the haredi soldiers, in some cases by car and in others on foot.
If haredim attack, the kibbutzniks – who will, they say, not be armed – will call police.
The service will be available from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursdays and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays.
“In every place where a soldier feels like he is threatened we’ll be there to help him. We love and embrace those who are participating in the security of the state and so we have decided to help provide security for those who need it themselves,” Yoel Marshak of the Kibbutz Movement’s Projects Division reportedly said.

The article you link is disingenuous nonsense. No one is spreading hate about haredi Jews. Rather, people are spreading facts about how haredi Jews act and about how their conduct hurts Israel. All haredi Jews need to do to stop the spreading of "hate" is to start respecting the secular world and its values. Note: I do not say that they should adopt the values of the secular world, but rather that they should respect those values. After all, those are the values that permit the haredi Jewish world to exist in the first instance!

A nice gesture of unity. Hopefully it will be seen as such and some folks will take them up on it if they need to.

Amazing! This would be like white people from Chicago's gold coast and Wrigglyville going to the south side to escort Black people home, keeping them safe from the shootings and gang violence!

i doubt even a single charedi ever takes them up on this. it would be seen as provocative and inflammatory, and would exacerbate the shunning faced by the soldier in his community. the sight of a charedi soldier in 'their' neighborhood being accompanied by evil chiloni zionists would lead to a riot. and if theyre unarmed it would turn into a bloody brawl in no time.

Since the soldiers are unwilling to defend themselves against their own kind, this is a kind of poetic justice. The Zionists will be and should be more than willing to bust some Haredi heads.
The plain and simple fact is that the rock throwers are bullies. They do what they do because the CAN! Now, when the next assault is attempted, and a few bochurs are left lying in a bloody heap (g-d willing), they will learn what repercussions mean.
Resistance is futile. The Haredim will serve in the army, or work and as the extremism increases, one will see the backlash against them grow. One final comment: When the south decided to go to war with the north in the US during 1861, the south ignored an important fact; The north was organized and industrialized. There was a trained army already at their disposal. The south had nothing except bodies. The loss was horrendous for the south. This situation exists in Israel. If the Haredim fall for this folly, they will be paying the price for years to come. It will not matter that they reproduce rapidly, they will not turn Israel into a theocracy and they will not win. Their violence only begets violence, and with the secular population rapidly turning against them and their political clout diminishing on a daily basis, their leaders should be reconsidering their future.

I am curiouser as to which of the kibbutz movements is organizing this.
There are 4 different ones. One of which is Charedei.

Jake –
I "curiouser" as to why you keep posting misleading comments.
Is this something you do in real life, as well?
Now do try to process: Yoel Marshak is secular.
Got that?
Or is truth, as usual, far too difficult for you to grasp?

Jews having to protect Jews against Jews. It's come to this. A sorry business all around. My guess is that this will turn out to be a largely symbolic gesture, an offer unlikely to be taken up readily unless, perhaps, some Haredi is driven by urgent need to return there when the streets are full.

Isn't the whole point of being a soldier that if someone screws with you you can shoot them? Seriously imagine random people in the US attacking soldiers they would be dead in seconds.

Sounds like good news, but the Israeli soldiers need to protect themselves as well against the Haredi mob.
