Video: Haredi Protests At The Kotel

Here is a video of this morning's haredi protests at the Kotel against Women of the Wall. It was made by an Orthodox Jewish groups and is edited to favor the haredi protesters. Even so, it clearly shows that when haredi leaders do not have the ability to flood protests with teen age haredi yeshiva students, they have far fewer supporters than outsiders would think.

Young frumma Toyrah scholars have a hard time waking up early and appearing somewhere, anywhere, on time, much less 6:30am.

A good strategy against the frumma protestors would involve requiring them to wake up early and be on time for something.

Look at the hate and anger on the faces of the frumma, God's Chosen. It does seem like most of the hate and rabble-rousing is coming from a few select lunatics, while the rest are there for sport.

Look at the hate and terror in the face of the frumma woman praying while a WoW tries to give her a hug. I'm sure God must be pleased with prayers said with such anger and hatred on their faces.

What I find particularly interesting is that at the end, a Hareidi guy is arguing with a soldier that the Women of the Wall (Wow) "have an agenda" and THAT is the reason their way of doing things is not valid. The Hareidi man also has an agenda. EVERYONE "has an agenda." Even ants carrying grains of sand "have an agenda." Why is that an acusation? And why does that make someone wrong? And if it does make someone wrong, then EVERYONE is wrong. It is a ridiculous argument and an accusation that makes no sense. Yet it is thrown around as though it has weight. "YOU have an AGENDA!" Okay, so do you! So we can agree on something - we ALL have agendas. Now what?

It was posted by someone calling him/herself "REALIST". How often do I say it? They nave no sense of irony.

I was talking to my friend the MO rabbi about it this morning. He approves of WoW, and said the Haredim don't appreciate the irony of the fact that by protesting against them, they're conferring legitimacy upon and stimulating support for them.
