A haredi modesty patrol in the Beit Yisrael neighborhood of Jerusalem attacked a car carrying a group of haredi women the patrol claimed were ‘immodestly’ dressed, allegedly shattering the car’s windows, puncturing its tires and covering the car with fish oil, the Times of Israel reported.
Police responded to the attack on the women but were themselves attacked by a haredi mob which surrounded the police vehicle and stoned it, shattering its front and back windshields.
Police backup arrived and dispersed the haredi mob.
No injuries were reported and no arrests were made.
Israel Police have long treated haredi violence with kid gloves, often allowing violent rioters to escape arrest.
In the few examples where arrests were made and the state decided to prosecute, defendants found guilty have usually received extremely light sentences – often house arrest or a combination of a few months in a prison yeshiva program combined with house arrest.
As I have said previously,I hope the American people don't read this. We mainstream Jews are fast approaching a time when the public won't make a distinction between Muslim Taliban and Jewish Taliban.When Haredi men spat at a eight-year-old girl in Beit Shemesh, Israel, the incident made headlines around the world. Here, at the Toronto Public Library, which receives the Pakistani daily Dawn, a columnist remarked that Jews are no different than Muslims. American Jews have paid a heavy price making themselves respected citizens of the U.S., DO NOT ALLOW the crazy Haredim to destroy our image.

It's hard to believe that Charedi women would venture out immodestly dressed.
Perhaps their real crime was that they left their homes.
The Charedim are modelling their behavior on the Taliban so it is likely that is the reason.
I don't understand the fish oil though. The Taliban normally punish women and girls by throwing acid in their faces.

It's just a matter of time until the Haredim do something similar. They're becoming more violent by the day and ore extreme in their practice. Notice that they don't try this in the US where they wouldn't get away with it.

the frustrating part of the talibanization of the charedim is that unlike the taliban the charedim don't have a fighting force and weaponry capable of fighting the army and police of their country. the state of israels only reason for allowing charedim to carry out terroristic actions on a regular basis is politics. its disgraceful.

Re the fish oil: maybe the modesty patrols have an additional goal of giving people Omega-3 fatty acids and Vitamin D?
