Women Of The Wall Board Member Gets Death Threat

Graffiti threatening the life of longtime board member of Women of the Wall journalist Peggy Cidor was found painted outside her apartment in the Talpiot neighborhood of Jerusalem this morning.
Ha'aretz reported that a neighbor found the words “Torah tag” (a play on the “price tag” attacks caried out against Palestinians, Israel Border Police and the IDF, as well as against mosques and churches, by the Hilltop Youth and other Jewish West Bank settlers) spray-painted on Cidor’s door. The stairwell walls were spray-painted with two slogans and a death threat: “Women of the Wall are wicked,” “Jerusalem is Holy,” and “Peggy, Your Time has Expired.”
The neighbor immediately called police, who came, woke Cidor, showed her the graffiti and warned her to watch herself and be careful.
Cidor filed a criminal complaint against the vandals with police.
“I expect Haredi leaders to condemn this act,” she told Ha’aretz.
"This was likely the actions of bored youth, acting in response to the incitement of their leaders. The real problem facing Israeli society is not what they did but what the leadership of the Haredi public will do now. The writing is on the wall. We call on the rabbis to staunchly condemn the vandalism and to end all incitement against Women of the Wall, without regard to the legitimate public discourse,” Women of the Wall reportedly said in a statement.
The haredi rabbi of the Kotel and other state-managed holy sites, Shmuel Rabinowitch, condemned the vandalism.
Last week, Rabinowitch called Women of the Wall divisive, immodest and arrogant.
In a public message to haredim Rabinowitch wrote that haredim should “come to the holy site on Shavuot to pray in a display of unity, modesty and humility to send a clear message to the Women of the Wall who violate these three values.”
interesting site this FM. On one hand you never miss an opportunity to besmirch deride, and criticize a frum Jew. But when it come to frum Jewess, especially when they are so frum that they can only pray at the western wall, you wax so eloquently about them.
Is that cuz you are such a feminist?

David:
I disagree. Haredim are quickly adopting the world view that those who do not believe as they do are infidels, and it is permissible to end the life of an infidel. All it takes is one call from the rabbinical pulpit.

Rabin z'l was murdered by a Dati Leumi bastard (such are often described erroneously by americans as MO's). Haredis are often big time morons and often act violentely and shamelessly, but so far, they have not been involved in murder.
I feel bad for WoW if they are threatened,
a shame and a stain on religious Judaism. though it would seem that the WoW themselves would be thrilled at the extra media exposure they get in the process.
Sad we get to these territories.

Rabin was not killed by a Charedie.

How horrible this story is.

Right. If a woman wears a tallit, it's punishable by death. If a frum Jew molests a child, the child is making it up.
I wonder if "Alice in Wonderland" has been translated into Hebrew. This is definitely a topsy-turvy world.

"Rabin was not killed by a Charedie."
The words that inspired the killer were absolutely spoken by one.............several in fact.

Wrong. Amir was trained and coached by a secular mosad member, who himself was tried for inciting Amir, if I remember correctly.

This follows a logical progression of Haredi thought and, I suppose eventually, action. The Israeli government has itself to blame for their increasing boldness; it should be locking these perps up for decades. Eventually one of them will commit a murder (another murder if you consider Rabin's killing to have Haredi origins) and with any luck all hell will break loose.

such holy women, I am surprised that FM writes so highly of them. I find that Fm is usually not pro frum people...
