An NYPD captain who sits on the board of Survivors for Justice, the anti-child-sexual-abuse nonprofit, was arrested last week for spousal abuse after he repeatedly slammed a door on his wife’s arm.
Daniel Sosnowik got into an argument with his 52-year-old wife about 11 p.m Monday in their Brooklyn home after his wife objected to Sosnowik allowing their 12-year-old son to take the family dog out for walk, the New York Post reported.
Sosnowik began shouting at her in front of the boy and then pushed into the doorway and repeatedly kept closing the door on her arm, the criminal complaint reportedly states, leaving her painfully bruised.
He was arrested at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday and charged with two counts of assault, menacing and harassment.
He was released without bail, but an order of protection was issued for his wife and son.
The Harvard-educated Sosnowik develops training curriculum for the police department and is the commanding officer of NYPD Leadership Training.
He has been suspended until the case is resolved.

If he were Reform, would you believe it?

Conviction of spouse abuse means he will not be able to possess a gun under Federal Law
No gun no job

"I know the wife, I don't believe it for a second"
Why not? Do you think the door was eating her arm?

Isa, even while the order of protection is in place, he cannot possess a gun.
Thunder, maybe she wouldn't listen.

Isa, good point.
She will probably file for divorce and end up dropping the charges and the order of protection, otherwise there will be a lot less alimony if he can't work in the PD.

IAD will investigate and make his life hell. and like most situations in nypd anyone with a grudge will jump in. if convicted e will be fired within weeks. The big question will be does he take retirement now or gamble on losing his pension. The wife is entitled to fifty percent.

I know husband and wife. I saw his mad temper. I came to do work on the house and he didn't like what work his wife asked me to do, he began screaming at her and then cursing and then at me. I ran for my life. He's crazy. And I definite believe the wife. Split personality the captain has. Nice on outside, a wild dog at home,
