Sikrikim Stone Firefighters, EMTs In Mea Shearim
Haredi Sicari gang members reportedly attacked rescue workers and firefighters last night in Jerusalem's Mea Shearim neighborhood.

Yeshiva World reports:
When firemen and EMS personnel responded to a blaze in Meah Shearim on Monday night the eve of 20 Iyar 5773 [i.e.m Monday evening April 29, 2013], they did not expect to have to defend themselves from attack. Despite the fact firefighters were responding to a blaze on Blecher Street, the sikrikim [staunchly anti-Zionist haredim linked to both Neturei Karta and the haredi umbrella group Eidah Haredit], whose yeshiva is located close to the fire, saw nothing wrong with pelting the life-savers with rocks, eggs and whatever they could grab at responders. An Israel Electric Company technician working on the scene was injured by one of the rocks.Yassam commando police were quickly dispatched to the scene to protect responders as they worked to evacuate people from the fire area for fear of a building collapse.
Where were the police? Does Israel have to arm the firemen and EMT's? Fucking little cowards deserve to have their heads blown off. May their loved ones scream in pain anguish and horror when they see their mangled bodies and torn up faces.
What if people's lives were endangered? Do these filthy rejects from a backed up toilet care about anything other than a twisted political agenda? May they all rot in hell!

What was their reason (other than being microcephalic idiots?)
And what did the police do to protect the 1st responders? Even I might not object to "shoot on sight" in this case.

They were angry that a policewoman was dispatched to the scene.

This is horrible.

Don't we always hear that when Arabs throw rocks it can be deadly and that justifies a harsh response? The police should defend responders with rubber bullets. Or perhaps they should just cut off ALL public services: electricity, gas, water.

This is pretty sick.

This is why firefighters and other first responders should carry sidearms.

This is standard Haredi behavior. The same thing happened three years ago to the day in the same neighborhood - it's reported on YNET:
http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/1,7340,L-3708342,00.html
These people are truly the lowest of the low. Pond scum, but the Israeli government doesn't do what it should: round them up and if their fellow cultists riot, bring in the water cannon and rubber bullets and anything else that's needed. These are criminals - plain and simple.

Throwing stones and/or bricks should be considered assault with a deadly weapon at the very least. I'd arrest these cavemen and charge with attempted murder as well... Either way I see two possible solutions. 1) Stop responding to this war zone and after a few buildings burn down the cavemen will stop. 2) Require armed escorts for first responders into this warzone which will slow down response (oh well) and make sure that brick hurlers are done away with quickly.

"after a few buildings burn down the cavemen will stop"
So........because there are idiots throwing rocks, we let the homes and businesses of the innocent burn?
Not the best plan. There are some pretty decent people loving in Mea Shearim, and I suspect running THEM out may be the ultimate goal of these idiots.
The response to the assailants needs to be massive, overwhelming and just this side of lethal.

Most of the professional Jerusalem Magen David Adom ambulance drivers are armed all the time.
Rebbitzman, unfortunately a rock is not considered a deadly weapon when thrown. Except if it results in death. If it was considered a deadly weapon the first intifada would have ended quickly and daily attacks by Arabs with rocks are basically ignored and not reported unless something tragic happens. Not reported to the police nor by the press.

If the firemen and EMTs didn't go, the same people would hold a hafganah and blame the absence of aid on Zionist refusal to help the Mea Shearim residents.

S M L What do you mean "this is standard hareidi behaviour"? How can it be standard, if the last time it was reported is 3 years ago? It probably happens more than once in 3 years, and standard hareidim don't throw rocks at the Fire Fighters. Around the world, fire engines are fitted with cameras because they get pelted often, but it's always fringe elments, like this time too.
No need to start labeling all hareidim as Rock Throwing people.

Tony Parker –
You have a mental illness. The Sikrikim frequently stone police. They attacked a class of high school Zionist Orthodox students a few months ago. Stoning police, firefighters and EMTs is common.
Stop trolling.

When Arab Palestineans defending throw stones they are shot or imprisoned. Why do Jewish Palestinean terrorists not get the same treatment? Isn't there equality in Israel?

I understood just fine. You are a very sick person.

The sakrikim had no other choice. they were forced into this. why did they bring shiksas their?
Posted by: shmendrak | May 01, 2013 at 07:44 PM
If sakrikim threatened the lives of innocents, the cops ought to shoot them dead.

Tony Parker:
Your objection to my characterization of this as "standard Haredi behavior" doesn't hold water.
I found a three year old article; there are others. Stoning, spitting, setting little fires, screaming abuse, harassment of victims of sexual abuse are all regularly reported Haredi behaviors so yes, I consider stoning of emergency personnel to be standard behavior by members of your group.
