The Bobov school arson in Bat Yam last week that was purportedly a hate crime turns out to have been allegedly committed by two minors, 12- and 13-years-old.
They were arrested Sunday on suspicion that they broke into the school last Friday, did minor damage, and then set a wall display in the school on fire.
Youth Unit Police arrested the two children, and then placed them under house
arrest.
Police also believe the two children may be responsible for vandalism at their own school, as well.
Bobov rabbis knew the two children, knew their ages, and reported them as possible suspects to police.
Even so, the very same Bobov rabbis made the vandalism appear to outsiders as a hate crime.
“The media has turned the question of army service into a movement for hating hareidim. They are just as responsible as the youths for this act,” one of the local Bobov leaders said after the arson was discovered.
not sure how one can deduct from the story that it was frum kids who did it. I searched and all it said neighborhood kids
I may be wrong

I did not write that the kids are frum.

my bad,
I reread what you wrote. However just because they where kids does not mean it was not a hate crime if they wrote the graffiti

I agree with Seymour. The fact that they were children does not negate that this was a hate crime.

Generally, courts hold that children that young are incapable of committing real hate crimes. And then when you realize they allegedly vandalized their own school, as well, you can see – or should be able to see – why this is so.

Perhaps the kids vandalized the school because they resent the fact that they are not taught any useful skills there that will later in life make them into independent, productive, honest people.

youre right seymour. if the two boys were smart they would have not only vandalized the school but also raped a couple of girls there. then theres no way the rabbis would have turned them in.
