Yeshiva World reports that an Israeli citizen who did not have a passport or any other form of identification was arrested in Egypt after he crossed the border into Egypt Sunday.
The man claimed that he was on his way to the grave of kabbalist Rabbi Ya’akov Abuhatzeira in Alexandria. After stopping there, he said he planned to go to Morocco to visit the graves of various rabbis there.
Israel is reportedly investigating the incident. The man is apparently still in Egyptian custody.
