A 59-year-old Brooklyn rabbi was arrested Wednesday for allegedly trying to solicit sex online from a police officer he thought was a 14-year-old girl.
Rabbi Nathan David (Nosson Dovid) Rabinowich – who runs a synagogue along with the Ahavath Torah Institute, which sells antique Jewish religious books and autographs of famous rabbis, and a tour company called Jewish Heritage Tours, all from his Midwood home – sent explicit electronic messages and also arranged to meet the “14-year-old girl” for sex in Queens. He used the online screen names “NYC-NORMAL100” and “NORMALGENTNYC.”
Rabinowich was charged with four sex crimes, including attempted rape. He was arraigned last night. Bail was set at $50,000.
His next court date is scheduled for March 7.

Yet again we see the dangers of the Internet. It is high time to institute and promote and create the technology necessary to protect children and vulnerable people from the internet dangers. We have laws to prevent drinking for underage kids yet a blind eye is being turned to this new form of danger.

Should we also ban the phone and the mail because they have also been used to solicit sex? Perhaps you advocate cutting off people's tongues and fingers to prevent using speech and writing to avoid soliciting sex.
the guy was a pervert and the world has loads of folks with internet who do not use it to solicit sex with minors.
