A former teacher at the Modern Orthodox Yeshivat Noam in Paramus, New Jersey, 27-year-old Evan Zauder, has pleaded guilty to child pornography and enticement charges. He faces a possible sentence of life in prison.
Zauder used the Internet to entice a 14-year-old boy in New Jersey to engage in sexual activity. Zauder had an ongoing sexual relationship with that boy for seven months.
Between December 2010 and May 2011, Zauder also amassed hundreds of child porn videos and pictures.
“Evan Zauder’s abuse and exploitation of minors was heinous criminal conduct perpetrated on some of the most vulnerable and powerless members of society,” U.S Attorney Preet Bharara said in a statement.
Yeshivat Noam suspended Zauder immediately after his arrest. There was no evidence that Zauder’s crimes involved students at the school.
Zauder is an ex-youth director at Congregation Bnai Yeshurun in Teaneck and a former part-time youth director at Hebrew Institute of Riverdale in New York City.
Zauder reportedly pleaded guilty to one count of enticement of a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity, one count of transportation, receipt, and distribution of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.
The enticement charge carries a possible life sentence. The child pornography distribution charge carries a maximum 20 year prison term and the child porn possession charge carries a possible ten years.
Zauder is scheduled to be sentenced on May 22 in Manhattan federal court.
In May, a Jewish Week exposé found videos of Zauder masturbating posted online – by Zauder himself.

He needs to be appropriately punished.
And I feel so badly for his parents whom I was friendly with before they married.

Oy,this is another clear case of anti-Semitism. We need to throw acid in the face of his accuser and harass the victim's family. That's what Torah-True Jews do, not like the Amalek-like Zionists.
