Rumor’s are that Allen Dershowits (who was in the court room following NW trial) believes the evidence were too circumstantial, and will accept the appeal for a $M.
BTW, I did some searching on GOOG and I was shocked to see that many studies have shown the wrongfully- conviction-rate in child sex abuse cases (where there is usually no physical evidence, and only 1 witness – the victim) is about 8-12%, and in cases where the victim had a reasonable revenge motive, the statistics goes up.

First of all, people backrarck all the time, Some very well connected people were willing to bet half a million dollars on her backtracking and those same people say once the ball got rolling she couldnt do it?

Some of Weberman's supporters say she made up the whole story as revenge for him getting her boyfriend arrested (by way of making the bedroom video of her and her boyfriend). Of course those charges were dropped and anyway that was a former boyfriend that was arrested.
Still, the Weberman's defenders say this motive was the reason she "made up" all the accusations and went through with the trial. I was only pointing out that the argument makes no sense - despite apparently being brought out in court by the defense.

I will try to educate you a bit. You say that you are not religious and not a chassid. Neither am I, but my father was a chassid before the war (a very young one, but a chassid nonetheless). 1. If I am Satmar I believe EVERYTHING I was taught. We are perfect vessels for Torah. The world outside is corrupt. If I have a question there is always a Rebbe nearby who will answer it.
