Video: The Hasidic King of Cocaine

Hasidic King of CocaineHasidic drug smuggling at its finest.

National Geographic did a terrible job with the costuming for the reinactments. But the story is, sadly, real:

Apologies to: Eric Clapton — Cocaine

If you wanna frum out you've got to have no doubts; cocaine.
If you wanna get frum, frum but you're krum; cocaine.

Matzoh brei, matzoh brei, matzoh brei; cocaine.

If you got bad Jews, Shmarya reports the news; cocaine.
When your day is done, to mincha-maariv you run; cocaine.

If your shtick is wrong and "Anti-Semites!" you whine; cocaine.
Don't forget this fact, you should clean up your act; cocaine.

Refrain 2x.

For a more entertaining look at the Hasidic drug trade, watch "Holy Rollers", starring Jesse Eisenberg.

In the 1990's, the Belgian franc was worth about 3 cents US. Someone at National Geographic was not very good in math.

I wonder what level of fact checking NatGeo did for this. We're supposed to believe that he spent 2 years in a Brazilian prison wearing a white shirt, tzitzit out and peyos flying?

Perhaps the smuggler would have been better off smuggling red chrain instead of cocaine? :^)

Sarek: Or if he smuggled propane into Spokane.

chabad are known as being drug kings .
i didn't know about others . good to know .

Modern day Yosef hatzadik and Potiphar... except she is supposedly a frum brazilian woman. And the husband is a frum guy sending his wife off to seduce a man? And the killing in jail was most definitely self defense, but I dont really get how that whole maneuver happened so that the thug kills himself. Not sure I believe it exactly as the film makers depict it.

Reminds me of Oracle Corporation. There was a lot of coke in Silicon Valley, in the 80s and 90s.

Ever read about 'Chip' Tatum? He flew cocaine for the CIA, including deliveries to Mena, Arkansas, where he met a fellow named Clinton ... and to Panama, where he delivered kilos to a 'Doctor' Harari. He's published some videos - they are on YouTube - as well as _The Tatum Chronicles_, which provided a basis for several other articles by interested journalists.
