Man Sentenced To 10 Years For Child Rape

A 23-year-old man wore a kippah in court as he was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for repeatedly raping two young brothers. Jeremy Roberts was also found guilty of 52 counts of possessing indecent photographs of children. On release from prison, Roberts will also have stringent controls placed on him in perpetuity for any contact with children under 16-years-old.

A 23-year-old man wore a kippah in Wood Green Crown Court in London as he was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for repeatedly raping two young brothers. Jeremy Roberts was also found guilty of 52 counts of possessing indecent photographs of children, the Jewish Chronicle reported. On release from prison, Roberts will also have stringent controls placed on him in perpetuity for any contact with children under 16-years-old.

Roberts pleaded guilty to multiple counts of rape of the two brothers which took place over and eight year time period.

Roberts was discovered when the younger brother told his school rabbinical counsellor he had been offered money to perform a sexual act on a man.

When police asked the elder of the two brothers why he allowed the abuse to continue, the boy reportedly replied, “Emotional force, blackmail, physical force.”

Roberts’ attorney said that when Roberts was 13-years-old he was hospitalized in a psychiatric unit where he was subjected to sexual violence. Roberts also suffers from ADHD, depression and spina bifida, and he had bariatric surgery to deal with weight problems at a young age.

A toxicologist report submitted to the court reportedly suggested that his medication, including “repeated dosing with amphetamines” could have lead to an increased sex drive combined with a lack of rational judgment with regard to a small number of the offenses.

Roberts wife attended the trial and “strongly support[ed]” her husband’s admission of guilt, even though that admission means that they will now now not have children.

When handing Roberts’ sentence the judge spoke of the “devastating mark” Roberts’ left on boys he abused and on their family.

“In the pursuit of your own sexual pleasure you have ruined many, many, many, many lives,” the judge said.

Two things about this are noteworthy: one is that only a ten year sentence was imposed and the other is that he has a wife, and one who seems devoted to him no less.

The rapes continued over a period of eight years. This fellow is 23 now. Clearly he was engaging in this activity long before he was married so there's not the explanation that she married him while none of this was going on any longer; it was, clearly. He began raping the kids when he was no older than 15.

Perhaps someone with better understanding than I have of the social dynamics of the frum community in the UK can explain how it was he got a shidduch at all and what pressures are likely being exerted to be keeping this woman in what will of necessity be a childless union. It's a head-shaker for me.

1. It's right there in the article:

2. It's simple common sense. A child rapist, however short his sentence, can't be allowed to leave prison, and immediately start breeding new victims.

Paedophilia is incurable. Therefore, paedophiles are prevented fRom having contact with children. Most sexual abuse of children occurs. within the family. The offender is usually the parent or grandparent.

So, if this sick bastard's wife wants to play the whole "stand by your man" role, then she forfeits the right to have children, or (when he's released) have them in her home as guests.
