What are the charedim scared of?

The truth. To give more detail - science, logic, ethics, history, literature, love, social progress, the law, and most of all? Freedom.

worried

What are the charedim scared of? If anything the internet should be welcomed as a tool for kiruv. They are deluding themselves if they think that by banning the internet the kids will not seek it out as a fruitful temptation and that would be worse.

David

This is an excellent outcome for the kids who can now go to normal schools where they can be educated.

Korben Dallas

A Haredi rabbi hates the internet for the same reason a dog hates a rolled up newspaper.

Rebeljew - Dihydrogen monoxide is serious problem. I haf proof dat Yiddishe kinderlach are beink vashed in it! Such a goyishe minhag, ve must take an action now!

Yasher koach to you.

We will be soimech that Moshiach will soon come and destroy this practice.

R. Krunlik Farblundtset, Trollover Rebbe.

Nice one Sarek!

Oh, and t-

He wants the men to check up on their wives workplaces and make sure they don't have access to to web but dose not make a similar request from the wives to look after their husbands workplaces

Probably because the likelihood of said men working at all, is as likely as them working at a cheeseburger joint for gay Nigerians, that features female cabaret singers, and gives away free packs of 'Top Trumps' cards* with every purchase.

* varieties available include Hamas Allstars, Physicists Who Changed the World, Girl Power!, and Blaxploitation Classics.

This offer is only available in participating venues while stocks last. Minimum order price of $5.87, one pack of cards per customer, given out at random. No exchanges, no substitutions, no haggling.

rebeljew

It sounds like we need another round of the petition to ban dihydrogen monoxide. I think we could 100 Rabanim on it.

rebeljew

They should not publicize this but merely put it on a website. Then, when a parent applies to the school and claims that they are complying with the ban, the hanhola can say "How did you know about the ban?"

No_Light

Does Deremes have children? If so, this can only be a good thing. Either he stays, and his children are saved from brainwashing, or he has to leave us.

I have to say, the first option is preferable. I'd happily take years of unhinged, sub-literate tantrums from the Head Prefect of the Trollover Yeshiva, if it meant saving a child or nineteen.

("I Fought the Law", Bobby Fuller Four)

I’m breaking iPhones in the hot sun
I fought the web, and the web won
I fought the web, and the web won
I needed sachel, but I had none
I fought the web, and the web won
I fought the web, and the web won

I lied to my people and I don’t feel bad
Afraid their faith would run
Afraid they’d spurn God to look at porn
I fought the web, and the web won
I fought the web, and the web won

Robbin’ faith doesn’t take a six-gun
I fought the web, and the web won
I fought the web, and the web won
I’ll keep control though it’s overdone
I fought the web, and the web won
I fought the web, and the web won

I don’t want them to run with the next fad
My control will be undone
As a rabbi I must be iron-clad
I fought the web, and the web won

Smarya,

please translate the last paragrap;

He wants the men to check up on their wives workplaces and make sure they don't have access to to web but dose not make a similar request from the wives to look after their husbands workplaces

SMR

My kids' haredi school sends all parental notices via email. Go figure.

red

Nice Dr. Seuss reference.

Mike

I'm actually really happy to hear this story, it means less kids will be affected by the corrosive influence of the haredi rabbis. By all means, make the criteria stricter and stricter so it comes to a point where no kid would be allowed to go to your heilige yeshivois.

soso

Well, at least they got their priorities right. They will not ban known sex offenders, but it is important to ban internet...

Pokey

Translating the Hebrew isn't very usefull. Most of the document deals with tcp/ip protocols, disallowed port ranges, invalid network address translation, and required use of a moss covered three handled gredanza.

This guy's a troll. Google translate is at translate.google.com, that site is a junk site, possibly with malware involved. Also, even if it was the right link, you can't google translate a PDF, but thats a separate issue.

Leading Haredi Rabbis Call On Schools To Ban Kids Whose Parents Have Internet

that's like saying:

Leading Haredi Rabbis Call On Schools To Ban Kids Whose Parents
Want Their Children Educated! how in the world will these children be able to support themselves one day without internet and computer knowledge???

omg

Yosef ben Matitya

reb seymour,
hypothetically, in all likelyhood, the creeps would be using the internet & would therefore be banned for that reason! no?

jancsipista

Its because pedophile r them.

put a square into a hole

to symour

KUDOS TO YOUR THOUGHTS
its easier to ban internet than ban pedophiles and rapists

seymour

I wish I would see a ban from these gedolem on any yeshiva that protected a molester

NotImpressed

Will any school follow his decree or is he simply farting in the wind.

Yosef ben Matitya

i say, lucky kids!
