London Haredi Rabbis Endorse Alleged Sex Abuser

Rabbi Chaim Halpern allegedly sexually abused several women he was counselling, some of who mustered up the courage to complain to the haredi rabbis who head Kedassia, the umbrella organization of primarily hasidic haredi rabbis.

Kedassia tried to cover up Halpern's crimes, but eventually brokered an agreement with him that saw him resigning from the beit din, religious court, he sat on and from other public leadership roles.

Those resignations were thought by many to be temporary, a fig leaf to stop the complaining women from cooperating with police.

Halpern was allowed to continue to run the synagogue and study hall located in the building where he lives, as well.

That caused a group of Golders Green haredi rabbis to isue their own letter against Halpern saying that Halpern was unfit to be a rabbi.

But hasidm are hasidim, and Kedassia chose to respond to that letter with this disgusting proclamation in support of a man they know to be an abuser.

These Rabonim signing the letter are not signing in Kedassia capacity. The proof of this Kedassia have already issued their official statement some time ago. These are just small fish who are loosely affiliated to Kedassia inasmuch as they live in Stamford Hill, and generally everyone here sees it as their personal opinion. None of kedassia big cheese have signed it.

But you are not from london and have no real idea what goes on here and just get your info from ifyoutickleus.

Everyone of these Rabbonim is from Stamford Hill. If Chaim Halpern would be a rov in SH they would be the first to 'kick' him out. But since he is rov in Golders Green which to these SH rabbonim is traifo, only their money which they live on is kosher, they consider them like reform or worse. For reform jews who anyway get up to these 'things' he is even too kosher. His BIL wrote a long letter which is posted on that site. How traifo the rabbonim who signed against him are. In other words much worse than him. So the SH rabbonim are up in arms against them throwing out R Chaim who is no worse than them and even better just because he is chasidish and not expected to be like the GG 'reform' rabbonim

Most of the Rabbonim that signed are third-rate rabbonim in Stamford Hill. The rabbi at the center of the allegations lives in Golders Green above his shul, where he also did his now infamous “marriage counseling”. The rabbonim of Golders Green have come out against him and said he is not proper to continue as a rabbi. The Kol Koreh was signed by 5 leading rabbonim, another leading rabbi has written a letter supporting their decision, another Av Beis Din has also. Other leading shuls in Golders Green have posted the Kol Koreh in their shul.

The Moron Gavad of UOHC, known as moron for short, has stated that no declaration should be issued, but doesn’t seem to have a problem with the one you have posted.

A demonstration has been scheduled for Sunday night 8 pm outside the shul/house in question.

1) Ezriel Schechter for starters is a complete nobody,not a rosh yeshiva, not a Rov of any shul, doesn't teach anywhere, never writeen a single chidush, never published a sefer, bascially a nobody and a good friend of the Hellporns. 2) Feldman of 69 heads a yeshivah and not Dayan, and good friend of the Hellporns, all the others are good friends of the hellporns and the viznitz rav is just that and does basically what he is told by Hellporns good friends, Hager of vishnitz monsey another good friend of the Hellporns and is no relevance to anyone outside his shul as is the other rov of vishnitz. Note: None of the Padwa's signed, No Dunner, No Weingarten, No Freidman, No Roberts, No Greenarse, No Knopfler, None of those who sit on Keddasia Beis din. This is a vendetta between rabbis in Golders Green who have very little influence on frum jews in London, and a dying flock, and Keddasia who have 6000+ families. It now has little to do with the original case. There is a longer version of this letter where they give their sources in halacha to their position. roughly translated to: 1) they are from the same town which is not allowed in halacha 2) they have always hated him 3) they are prejudiced and decided on their position before the trial 3) they never gave the accused a chance to respond nor heard his version of events 4) they have not given him any time to respond 5) in the event that he has sinned there is a process to punishment 6) the accused can decide on where the court should take place

No there may not be a criminal case, but if a marriage counselor is groping his female clients, that does not put him in the best light. If he is a rabbi on top of that – well. If he is a Chossid as well – what does that say about his chassidus?

There is no case to take to the police if a rabbi is caught eating Chazir treif or breaking Shabbos.

The problem with Kedassia is that they have sat on their hands and done nothing.

it was suggested that the German Polygraph which seems to be 98% accurate should be used. It will at least stop all the rumors spreading around the world between "beni toire" writing rechilus and the most in appropriate issues back wards and fore wards. With schmuts......

Interesting issue is that as of the last few weeks more and more abused families, children etc. get the strength to come fore ward and I strongly advice all parents and children boys or girls to come fore ward and report the issue directly to the police!
