Video: Neighbors Complain Chabad-Run Synagogue Is Too Loud

West 22nd street Manhattan shulThe NYC shul hosts large parties and events that last through the night, disturbing neighbors and robbing them of their sleep, and the shul may not even have a permit to host them. But the shul's Chabad rabbi appears to be genuinely sorry.

he seems sorry hopefully he follows up

Of course they don't have permits. They only work within the lawful system when forced and the rest is superfluous. The rhetoric is so consistent there must be a playbook. How much do they charge when the so magnanimously open their doors for these events? He sounds sincere?? What are you smoking for breakfast?

They kept showing the Sukka, so maybe it was the Simhas Bais ha'Shevah during Sukkos, when Chabad goes nuts drinking and dancing all night.

The rabbi did seem a lot more sincere than the typical in-your-face with the Jewland accent unkempt Chabad rabbi. Hey, he even wore a normal suit and tie. What's up with that? The new Chabad Lite?

Why is this newsworthy?
Will you be covering raves next lehavdil?

If it portrays Chabad in a bad light then it is newsworthy. This is what this site is all about. The attempt to bring down Chabad and Haredim while making a buck in the process.

id like to know what kind of club the rabbis running

This was on the news yesterday? And the Sukka is still up?

Gotta wonder, of all the restaurants and clubs and bars in NYC making noise all night, and people living nearby complaining, why was this worthy of a TV news story and film crew?

It's a residential area, it goes on way later than normal even for NYC, and there don't appear to be proper permits.

And, of course, it is a synagogue.

how exactly, did chabad acquire said property in the first place?

nah! wsc, let's not kid ourselves , sorry, the suit etc... it all depends on the specific time, who they happen to be speaking to and which side of their mouth is doing the talking.

Did Chabad yemakh shemom build this Shul, or steal it from an aging congregation?

Of course they stole it. Haha. How about you look deeper into the shul. It could be an MO shul with a Chabad musmach running it. It's in the heart of the city's biggest gayborhood. No sure how many locals daven there.
