A ba’al teshuva yeshiva student in Crown Heights was brutally beaten and robbed by a gang of assailants as he raced home before the worst of Hurricane Sandy hit. The attack and robbery which took place at Albany Ave. and President St. at 6:47 p.m. Monday was captured on security camera footage. A gang member tripped 21-year-old recent recent Princeton University grad Jeremy Furchtgott, and others pummeled him from behind, striking him in the head and body before stealing his wallet that contained $40 in cash, and his iPhone.

The Lubavitchers of Crown Heights are going to find the 71st Precinct unhelpful for a long time because of how they handled the ALIYA Institute Incident.

To the contrary, it would be stupid for the 71st Precinct to be unhelpful considering the criticism they have recently suffered from people community leaders and politicians everywhere in connection to the police brutality at ALIYA.
The 71st Precinct is STILL getting back at the Lubavitchers because of the fight over the City Bus running along Kingston Ave on Saturday afternoon back in the early 80s in which a policewoman lost her fetus. The Lubavitchers clamber for protection yet turn on the cops at every opportunity. (See the attitude espoused by CH.info) I don't know if that character had permission to sleep at ALIYA or not, but I'd bet that many cops believe the security guard when he says that he never saw the guy before (he's from Flatbush not Crown Heights), and think that the rabbi of that place came to the defense of “a Jew” and lied that he was allowed to sleep there. I guess we'll see how it plays out over the next few months. My bet is that crime in Crown Heights skyrockets, and some form of a "blue flu" operates at the seven-one.
