Frank Moore Cross 1921–2012
Known as the dean of scholars in his fields, Frank Moore Cross was the Hancock Professor of Hebrew and Other Oriental Languages Emeritus at Harvard University, the third oldest endowed chair in the United States. He was best known for his work on the Dead Sea Scrolls, for his 1973 work Canaanite Myth and Hebrew Epic, and for his work in Northwest Semitic epigraphy. He passed away Tuesday.

you are aware no doubt about his comments on Judaism. He did some interesting work

Took a class with him at Harvard. never a better lecturer with greatest insights and interpretations of events. Always looked for the big picture.
