Chabad Fails To Heed Beit Din Ruling, Leaves Fired Teacher Without Means Survive
Chabad's Melbourne, Australia Yeshivah Centre fired a teacher, failed to give him the proper severance pay, and disregarded a Chabad beit din's injunction against them. These are the same Chabad rabbis who have failed to fully cooperate with police investigating the dozens of child sexual abuse cases at the the Yeshivah Centre and who have done nothing to help alleged victims or the victims they know were abused there.
Organisations affiliated with the Lubavitch movement employ ten of thousands of eductional personnel worldwide. Why the apparently minor dispute deserves full-fledged treatment as if subjects were child molester or Ethiopian haters is not clear. Indeed, the matter is clearly one in procsess of being resolved, according to the document provided. Does the world Jewish community really need updates on every jot and tittle of every employment relations mackloykes that surfaces anywhere around the world?

He should just go them for unfair dismisal. And if they have not paid him all that is owed he should take it to the fair work ombudsman....

He can get more money from a Bais Din than from the fair work ombudsman, specifically when one considers all the stuff that goes on unter de tish.

Yes, since Shmarya has been covering the conduct of people associated with Yeshiva Centre Melbourne for over a year now, including some (Telsner, Groner, etc.) who are mentioned in this report.

Not if you don't think that the hypocrisy of those that proclaim they follow God's word "religiously" and have a monopoly on righteousness deserves to be exposed for the bullshit it is. (and that goes for extremists of all religions)

The undemocratically appointed Board of Management of the Yeshiva Centre has for years operated on the assumption of "ignore it and it will go away".
Complaints of sexual abuse, lack of financial transparency, "hiring and firing" principles - just to name a few .
One by one these things have started and will continue to backfire on the Board.
The Board has indicated repeatedly that they are set in their ways and unlikely to change .
For the benefit of the community, the board should resign and democratic elections should take place now .

I’m with kitniyot | October 26, 2012 at 11:13 AM. Shmarya is helping expose and clean up the dreck that run Yeshiva Centre Melbourne, helping the fearful, powerless little guys. Who else will?
