Infectious Disease Society Of America Supports Health Department, Opposes Rabbis
"IDSA strongly supports the use of scientific evidence to inform public health policy.…Because neonatal immune systems are underdeveloped, HSV infection in newborns is more likely to result in death or permanent disability. Indeed, of the eleven cases investigated by DOHMH between 2004 and 2011, two of the infants died and at least two others suffered brain damage.Given the severity of these consequences, the risks associated with MBP as well as the importance of practicing circumcisions and related procedures in a sterile environment should be clearly communicated to parents or legal guardians in advance of the procedure. Accordingly, IDSA supports the informed consent requirement currently under consideration and urges the Board of Health to approve it."
I'm told the American Sexually Transmitted Diseases Association has also weighed in on the side of the Health Department – meaning that all experts are on the side of the Health Department. The only one who isn't, Dr. Daniel Berman, is not only not a top tier expert, he is widely reviled by his medical colleagues. He's also haredi and is in the pocket of haredi rabbis.
All this should mean that haredi rabbis approve the informed consent and comply with the Health Department.
But of course, they won't.
Obviously an anti-Semitic organization, probably one that has been infiltrated by Nazis specifically brought over from Germany. What other explanation can there be for such an outlandish letter?

WHY not make it illegal for two reasons pedophilia and its dangerous? to say they wont make it a crime because Orthodox Jews will do it anyways,is childish.
Again, let them make it as a criminal act.
Have any of you noticed the IDSA doesn't mention "penis sucking"?

VIN readers condemn this as the work of self-hating Jews.

I remember the days when my dental hygienist didn't wear a mask and gloves to do a cleaning. I'm always insulted to see the hygienist suit up. "What? Are you saying I may be infectious?" I shout. "My family has been getting cleanings for generations. You have no proof we've ever infected anybody!!! I'm highly insulted by you insulting the dental cleaning process. The fingers you cover, but not the elbows. Slut."

Is that a problem for you?

I saw the headline on this story and said, "well, duh." In other breaking news, the earth is round, is a bit more than 6000 years old, and humans and apes had a common ancestor. Any problems with these statements?

Jews who pursue policies at the negative recommendation of a medical society do so at their peril and the peril of their future by the reason of dignity and sanity of human experiences. Sorry folks, I will not comply with a heretical jewish way of life no matter how many centuries that the small enclages of ultraorthodox did the experience.

The rabbis response to this recommendation from the IDSA will most probably sound something like this.
"We G-d fearing Jews have been performing mbp for thousands of years. We have a holy tradition dating back to Moses Our Teacher on Mt. Sinai that specifies that this is the best way and the only proper way to perform this mitzvah. So, dear doctors, thanks very much for your input, but since we learned rabbis know far better than you all of the details and ramifications - both medical and spiritual, related to this act, we will continue performing it in exactly the same way that our forefathers did".

This is so embarrassing to us as Jews that a major medical organisation has to get involved in recommedning against this bizarre, primitive, uninformed and undignified procedure which is also based upon medieval medical knowledge, now known to be wrong.

Again, a recap of the "History of Metzitzah BʼPeh Disease Transmission."
From 1811 onwards to 2012:
*From single digits to 100s of infections on MBP circumcised infants through the years, some of the deaths on an "Epidemic level".
*Along with Herpes, infants contracted from metztizah b’peh's mohelim such other varied diseases as tuberculosis, syphilis, cellulitis, and diphtheria.
*"Once MBP use had been stopped," infections became became exceedingly rare.
All this proven data backed by physicists, scientists, doctors,... and health safety groups like the CDC, and now, the IDSA.
(And cue the expected MPB apologists remarks: "Only 0.0024%, part of President Obama's master abortion plan, only 'ONE out of FIFTY THOUSAND'," etc,.. ).

@Deremes
Again, this is a question you "failed" to answer before:
*You justify even one single infant death by metzitzah b’peh based on a religious law decision set by fallible human beings.
*Would you vouch that G-d himself would justify the death of a single one of his children due to metzitzah b’peh?.
Well?.

Deremetic - why won't they come out and ban it? Because you and your crooked, swindling, cock-munching, science-denying bunch of knuckle-draggers would throw a tantrum, and you fucking know it.
You know that the second any official utters a single word you'd be screaming and howling "anti-Semitic this" and "Blood-libel" that, and "Nazis!" the other.
Disgusting, disingenuous little boy. You may be genetically similar to a pig*, but I know for a fact that they're cleverer, more able to learn, and better company than you have a hope of being.
*We all are, get used to it.

Well babs, I think Jancs said it best when he said something about their rabbis holding their brains hostage.

That would have to involve a portion of Torah leadership admitting they got something wrong. Ain't gonna happen.
