Three Brooklyn hasidim – Samuel Ashkenazi, 43; Samuel “Benzi” Goldberger, 34; and Samuel Blau, 50 – were arrested Wednesday for allegedly laundering “millions of dollars for an international drug ring that operates in Israel, England and the US.”

Three Brooklyn hasidim – Samuel Ashkenazi, 43; Samuel “Benzi” Goldberger, 34; and Samuel Blau, 50 – were arrested Wednesday for allegedly laundering “millions of dollars for an international drug ring that operates in Israel, England and the US,” the New York Post reported.

Under the orders of the Israeli gang leaders, the three hasids allegedly collected drug money in New York, Boston and Hartford, and laundered it through The Money Spot, a check-cashing business in Brooklyn owned by Goldberger.

Ashkenazi allegedly was the group’s courier, picking up millions in cash and bringing it to The Money Spot to be counted and distributed.

Blau is accused of arranging at least one cash pickup in excess of $300,000.

*The NY Post is located in New York, a large continental city with a large contingency of Secular, Orthodox and Ultra-Orthodox Jews. "Jews" is an all encompassing blanket word, "Hasidic Jews" is a determining term in this case, since that is who they were.
*Even if the headline was "Three Jews from Brooklyn were busted yesterday for allegedly laundering millions of dollars", that's still not anti-Semitic. Denoting a race or religion of a perp in a news article is, as of yet, not a race baiting offense, unless somebody had changed the headline to "dirty Jews", and that would had been a race incitement move by that particular person, not the whole of the NY Post specially (one Hell of a ClusterF*ck for its editors for not catching the change before printing time, though).

With the first headline?. No, as it uses the current correct terminology to describe an African American (also known as Black-American), an individual of connected African ancestry, born or residing in the United States of America.

With the second headline?. No either, as any English educated, language savvy editor would never write just "blacks", because as I already told you, he would be aware that the correct term is African American.

Bob Guthrie, you may be technically correct; labelling the suspects im such manner is not "prima facie" antisemitism. However, you willfully ignore the fact that it has become pc not to report a suspect as black, presumably so as to avoid the tarnishing of an entire community with the misdeeds of one individual. The fact that this courtesy was not extended to this community certainly raises legitimate questions of racial or religous bias.
