A rabbi and three of his students were reportedly arrested for allegedly vandalizing property at an Orthodox school in the Israeli city of Hadera and blocking female students from entering it.

A rabbi and three of his students were arrested for allegedly vandalizing property at an Orthodox school in the Israeli city of Hadera and blocking female students from entering it to prevent the school from opening, Ynet reports.

Today is the first day of the new school year.

The rabbi and his students – who are not identified in the report – are allegedly embroiled in a dispute with the city government over ownership of one of the school's buildings, and  that is thought to be the catalyst for today's violence.

Police reportedly secured the school.

Why was the Rabbi and his students standing so close to girls?

Why are the frumma always getting into disputes about who owns what buildings?

Normal people have a clear understanding of what buildings they do or don't own.

And two more reasons for the protest: 1) the school represents education and 2)worse, it educates girls.

I think this calls for a new, updated version of Yentl (or maybe a sequel starring Babs before she passes away)...

Strangely enough, there is a similar tale told in Genesis where the landlord tossed out the tenants for suddenly becoming educated.

He had previously enjoyed the view of the ignorant tenants going about in their birthday suits and became enraged when they gained enough intelligence to become more than naked, ignorant animals.

Your god wants you to be stupid and naked, O Israel. It is all right there in Genesis.

Some of you obey, but not completely.

If this Rabbi and company had done this in the nude, they would have gained my respect.

Why they don't just shut down all education facilities, I don't know.
It is clear that some people do not want to be anything but animals with harems, living in plenty.

Excellent question. In this country it generally takes about 30 minutes to determine who is (and by default - who is not) the owner of record for any piece of property.

Does anyone else on this blog fear that this is going to end in civil war or the equivalent? The frumma are becoming more aggressive and assertive day by day. Beatings, torchings, obstructive tactics. Good thing these fools have no weapons trainiing - though I suppose after some are forced into the IDF they'll have that too.

I'm quite certain that if humanity survives beyond the next several years (about which I have no confidence), these people will be the destruction of Israel.

Interesting, all confrontation between haredi IDF personal and Israelis are with the haredim themselves. Looks like the haredi IDF will wind up siding with the seculars!

They way their extremist Charedim brethren throw them out of buses, their own Shouls, threat them, call them names, and get repudiated by friends and family, it will be their fault when they do.

You can only push them away so many times before they turn and walk away.

As for the Rabbi and students vandalizing a Girl's (Females!) Orthodox school, and barring them from entering, eeh, what's new?. As with Hasidic IDF soldiers, there's also a finite amount of harassment you can heap upon Females before you enter the designated "violent misogynistic stalking creep" Camp.

And there's no free "get out of jail cards" when you join that merry institution.
