I did not listen to the show but I would imagine that the first and foremost problem with the Beit Din system is that the lawyers cannot make a buck on it!

Perhaps you should listen to the show. Mr. Lewin provided some meaningful constructive criticism and suggestions for the Jewish public how to change the Beit Din system for the better.
He mentioned for example that people afraid of the case dragging on for a long time and or bankrupting them should insist on adding clauses to the arbitration agreement with the Beit Din that limits the cost and or the duration of the case etc.
