Haredi Gang War Continues – Gerrer Hasid Beaten By Sicarii In Beit Shemesh

A Gerrer hasid tried to stop two Sicarii members from posting signs from Eidah Charedit condemning Gerrer violence against the Sicarii. The two haredi groups are fighting for control over the Batei Warsaw houses in Mea Shearim. Both Ger and the Sicarii are known to be exceedingly violent, and the Sicarii are often compared to the Mafia because of its extortion of Mea Shearim area businesses. The Sicarii didn't like the Gerrer hasid's intervention and they beat him so seriously that he needed to be taken to the hospital.

 

This isn't the most serious attack in this war between the Mea Shearim-based anti-Zionist Sicarii and Gerrer hasidim.

Less than a month ago, a gang of Gerrer hasidim 10 to 20 strong beat a Sicarii leader with clubs and iron rod so seriously that he was hospitalized in serious condition with head injuries, internal and external bleeding and broken bones.

And a few months ago a gang of Gerrer hasidim burst into the same Sicarii leader's house in Mea Shearim, doused the interior with gasoline, doused a baby with gasoline, and set the occupied house on fire. The Sicarii leader's family, however, including the baby, managed to escape.

There are "tribal issues" at play but I seriously doubt that they will cross the line and kill intentionally.

If they do we are in uncharted territory.

If one examines the recent wars including the Gulf. Soldiers being hurt get very little press, it is basically only the deaths that bring up the english. When ever one speaks about the tragedy of the towers, one invariably brings up the 2000+ deaths but ask almost anyone how many were injured hardly anyone knows.

I believe that the leaders will speak up and intervene if their followers actually kill other Jews. It is like the difference between taking a bullet vs dodging a bullet.

It is obvious that Batei Warsaw were intended for Jews coming to Jerusalem from Poland, not their Israeli or American born descendants. Furthermore the practice of providing these residences has been corrupted by the need to pay 'key money'.
