Agudath Israel Child Sex Abuse Meeting

Agudath Israel of America, whose stated halakhic position is that senior haredi rabbis should evaluate each allegation of child sex abuse and determine whether or not police should be called, is having a session at its national convention for synagogue rabbis on child sex abuse. Will Agudath Israel continue to tell these men to screen all allegations of child sex abuse?

give him a job in another community a job with children or better yet fly him to Israel

vilify the person and family who reprted them

chusid- i dont know if you know me but i wrote here about a dozen times about what happened to me over 50 years ago when i was 10 years old i came from a communist country to usa at the time in the town i lived not far from satmer we had a shoihet and moel who was 62 years old in 1960 there was no indoor plumbing

My fear/guess is that the pulpit rabbis will be advised to refer all such reports to either the Moetzes Gedolei Torah or to a panel appointed by the Moetzes to deal with reports. Pulpit rabbis will be denuded of authority to call the police or advise people to do so.
