The Alleged Extortion Of Rabbi Baruch Lebovits
The Forward has a report on the status of the case against convicted child sex abuser Rabbi Baruch Lebovitz and the case against the man who allegedly tried to extort him.
Although the article doesn't mention it, there is afiled response from the DA to Lebovits's claims.
I hope to have more on that soon.
From the article it would seem that regardless of what Lebovitch did or did not do, the witnesses have been tainted, and it has been made impossible to ever ascertain what really happened.
This is what happens when you think the ends justifies the means - you end up ruining everything.

Lebovits applied for permission to leave his house arrest to attend synagogue during Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot and Simchat Torah.
The request was granted.

The Alleged Extortion Of Rabbi Baruch Lebovits
Interesting how the grandson of a mobster-Shaya Rosenberg uses the word "Alleged " for someone he probably favors(the man testifying against Lebovits)
Lebovits may be guilty of this terrble crime but until found so, why not say Alleged: pertaining to him as well!?

I heard his case was completely dropped, from a basic life sentence he's a free man now. The evidence that wittiness were tainted are obviously very strong otherwise the DA wouldn't allow himself to fall flat on his face to such a degree. Watch the lawsuits flying from left and right next (and more ppl getting arrested for this Shpiel)!! In plain english this is what we call the "last Laugh". But the sad part is, that if all the terrible rumors about Lebowitz were true, he's getting with blue murder. And to all those behind the tainted evidence as Ben Braufman says at his speeches "Kleeg Kleeg Kleeg Bist A Nuhrr!!!

My opinion is that BML is guilty as hell, but another charedi crook tried to make some money and he tried to taint witness. In my view, it is clear that both Charediem should be in jail. In my view, I don’t know who is did more damage to the children’s safety, Lebovitz or Kellner, both of them belong in jail.

Please.
Lebovits was convicted. You'd know that if you actually read the article.
And if you'd read previous posts about Lebovits you'd know the P.I. that exposed the alleged extortion also says that Lebovits molested many children.
But looking up the facts before you open your mouth takes brains and a desire to be honest – and you clearly lack both.

Honesty and brains are not you forte either Shmarya
You never use the worf alleged on any charedi person before actually being convicted.Whatever you hear is fact .I know Lebovits was convicetd but if you look at youe earlier postings on the case you never use the word "alleged".Rubashkin-everything is not alleged!

For about 30 years BML was know as a fornicator but his specialty was young Hasidic married ladies (the more covered up with burkas the more he salivated).
But like every Baal Tayvah if he reaches his goal it becomes boring. So about 10 years ago he started with local bochurim that he recruited from the Munkatcher Yeshiva and Mikvah. an easy recruting station as Munkatch gives free tuition as no one wants to go there, and get the dregs of society.
Before he was busted he was really into it... and then ... all this was taken away from him.
Life is unfair.

Here's the problem: The purported victim was paid $10,000 to say Liebovits molested him. Liebovits was also held up for $400,000. When he refused to pay, the extortionists reported him to the cops, and he was convicted based upon exceptionally tainted evidence.
If you want a conviction, get it cleanly. Not by these methods. As far as I'm concerned, Liebovits is not guilty beyond a reasonable doubt or anywhere near that standard. About Kellner, I have no doubt. Let him do the remainder of Liebovits' time.
I don't give a hoot in hell what the rumor mongers here say about the guy; that proves nothing.
