Kabbalah Follower Sues Jews Over High Holidays

Shayla Sweatt, a Kabbalah follower from Brooklyn, is suing her former employers – Astucci US, a New York City Garment District company that sells eyeglass cases – because Astucci’s Jewish owners refused to let her take time off work for the Jewish holidays, her lawyer, Matthew Blit told the New York Post.
According to the Post, Dan Ben Moshe, Astucci’s owner, said Sweatt’s claims were “bulls--t.”

This is a great story, it'll end up in court for sure. The owners recognize that she's not really Jewish but from an employer's standpoint, they're not legally allowed to decide that.

Goyim should not study our Torah because it was given to us and not to the goyim. They should not keep shabbos or otherwise pretend to be one of us. Because they are not. When they do there is such craziness when goyim study Torah. Such confusion. It is like when one of the homosexual think he is a woman and should marry a man. We live in a confused times.
HaShem will end the confusion of the goyim when Moshiac is revealed, so I say on behalf of everyone, please send us Moshiach already and there will be an end of the confusion!

NOT on behalf of everyone. I'm not asking or waiting.
I'm having way too much fun here listening to sheeple like you mindlessly parroting something they were told to say by their leaders.

How many Jews here were forced to work during Diwali last week? What nerve of business owners!

Talk about selective editing...........
The REST of Sanhedrin 59a goes on to say that a non-Jew who studies Torah is like the High Priest. The conclusion is that a non-Jew is consider righteous if he studies the parts of the Torah that may legally be applied to him.
Ergo, your statement - like yourself - is simply ignorant.

W4M - didn't you know he's already here?
Wow, all of poor Adam Neira's wonderful teachings and lessons are being unheeded. He's like Jesus 2:Electric Jewgaloo.
Never mind Adam, even if W4M doesn't believe you're the Messiah, I'm sure you'll get your own spin-off religion some day.

It doesn't matter if the plaintiff is Jewish. All that matters is if it is a sincerely held belief.

I’m an orthodox Jew and i think Kabalah is BS.

"Goyim should not study our Torah because it was given to us and not to the goyim"--Waiting for Moshiach, Oct 31 2011, 10:32AM
Jews should not study anything a goy has written--including the plethora of science, engineering, music, and art contributions--because it was given to the goyim, not to the Jews.
Jews should participate in any events or pacts patroned by goyim, including living in the diaspora. Jews shouldn't pretend to be brethren or caring neighbors to goyim. Confusion will ensue.

Eva - if you REALLY believe that, what the hell are you doing on the Internet?
Posted by: rebitzman | October 31, 2011 at 05:23 PM
Eva, any relation to the boyfriend of another Eva who made similar comments? Or are you being sarcastic?

I think she was being sarcastic. Meanwhile, the irony is that this reflects what W4M actually believes.

I agree, Jeff. Problem is sarcasm doesn't always work so well over the Internet, although in this case the sarcasm is pretty clear.

To No Light,
The redemption is a process. Doesn't just magically happen with the click of the fingers. With this story, a good boss if they are happy with their employees work should allow a bit of leeway for holy days, whatever the person's faith.

If she wins the suit how much of the take do the Bergs get?

"God doesn't want Torah taught to Gentiles"
That's OK then because Kabbalah Centre doesn't teach Torah, it teaches out-tech squirrel Scientology Lite

I had the misfortune of once working for these assholes (and they were in every way imaginable). I support anyone who sues them. Funny thing though about this ---- I don't recall them (the owners) ever working any of the Christian holidays. Odd that. It was also funny how they took ample time off on the Jewish holidays but hardly gave us any time off on holidays they personally didn't celebrate. We were treated like shit by them.
