Attack thought to be motivated by racism

Ynet is reporting that four Arab’s who work for the City of Jerusalem were attacked in Jerusalem's Givat Shmuel neighborhood Sunday. The four were taken to the Shaare Zedek hospital for treatment where their injuries were classified as “light.” Police believe the attack was motivated by racism.
Two men dressed in haredi clothing apparently approached the workers, who were cleaning, and attacked them with pepper spray.
The attackers then fled the scene.
Police launched a search for the two men, but have yet to locate them.
A similar attack was carried out last year by soccer fans in Jerusalem’s Teddy Stadium. Two arab workers were cleaning toilets when they were attacked and beaten by at least three attackers, who were later caught and charged with aggravated assault motivated by racism.
Again, I do not understand these Haredi jackasses. If they don't believe in the state of Israel, why are they still there? And why do they attack Arabs...unless they're pro-Israeli Arabs?
They seem to be filled with such hate. Has anyone been successful in an intellectual discussion with them? (Of course, they wouldn't talk to me since I'm female.)

Maple Bacon,
They could have been Arabs disguised as Charedim. Maybe it was Seymour who knows...
Also, the Old Yishuv made up of Charedim, predates the modern state of israel, so why should they leave?

They did this on 9/11 and did not hand out candies? I thought it was custom in that part of the world. Must be the economy.

The details of the case are not fully revealed here, but this violence in the Holy City is troubling.

I thought haredim love the arabs and are anti-zionist. Now I'm confused. Unless shmaryah is fooling us again

@ Maple Bacon and Drudge - not all haredim are anti-Zionist. And not all people called "haredim" by the press are "haredim" at all. (same is true of the press's use of the word "chassidim")
Semour - a Satmarer or a Neturei Karta follower in Israel would not attack an Arab unprovoked, at least not out of racism, although if the Arabs in question are functionaries of the Zionist government, that might be a motivation. (said tongue in cheek, but nevertheless plausible)
