Scanning the list, it appears they owe money to their own people (food and teachers). Only the IRS appears to be non-haredi.

What???? Since when did you think the frumma followed authentic Halacha? To them, Halacha is the loophole, not the law.

I am involved in a frumma organization. Not A DAY goes by when they are not exploring or engaging in some angle of how to find or exploit a loophole in Halacha or defying secular law. E.g. employment policy, compliance with safety laws, contractual obligations, basic civil decency, compliance with parking laws, you name it.

To me, the "frumma" are not holy people, they are agents of Satan! With a VERY FEW exceptions, I would not trust a single one of them!

Some of the parents are at fault, too.

Last year, the Tomer Devorah’s administration found out that many parents, who were not paying tuition, have nonetheless paid for their bungalow colonies. They did not allow the daughters of these families to enter class until their parents settled the tuition arrears.

When parents’ priorities put hedonistic activities like bungalow vacations over paying for their daughters' tuition then no wonder the school goes bankrupt. This is part of the encroaching moral bankruptcy prevalent throughout our community.

they say they need to scam and get section 8 and food stamps to survive

but they somehow have income for fancy cars cloths expensive wigs and so on

they are corrupt to the core the ones who do that. yet everybody even their neighbors who would not do that consider them better frum jews than a modern orthodox jew.

Skver in BP is not a real Chassidic grouping. They have few (very few)followers. The real founder of this group was rabbi David Twersky a righteous eccentric who assisted many in getting in touch with the appropriate medical care. He actually cared about people. Mnay sought his assistance daily.
Ina addition he ran a yeshiva system which catered to kids from large Chassidic groups who could not get into their own yeshivas. Many of these students were from Bobov.The overflow kept his schools going.
The Rebbe was assited in hiw work by his wife ebbetzin Twersky , a very able person bothw ere American born.
Rabbi Twersky hated PR and until his final illness hated pictures of himself. He lived very poorly and certainly did not hide money.His trips to the Upper west Side and Chicago were not heavily publicized thus thwarting their fund raising appeal. I can attest to that. His schools were always in trouble but a few rich men helped him. His major problem was his epersonality. he liked going his own way, davening at 11:30 AM Shabbes. tishen at 1AM Friday night and telling everyone off if he felt they did the wrong thing. that includes myself and his oldest son.. So you can see he did not have many financial backers although many loved him and respected him. Rav Dovidl'l was a unique person , His rabbistve was to kep the family tradition going. In private he spoke the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
But he never made it in BP. e was American not Hungarian and could not play the Hungarian games. He was never able to glad hand people , to smile as a fake or work the PR amchine.
After he died his successor son (not the one the Rebbe REALLY wanted to take over in earlier years) changed the game. he started massive PR campaigns, his picture was featured in all FRUM newspapers. He postured as if he were on par with the Skverer rebbe of New Skver who ahs about 10,000 followers worldwide , comapred to 100 for the BP rebbe.All of this cost a fortune.
I have no real data on whats been going on in BP Skver , but Chassidim also are part oft he market economy and its just possibile this school system had lost its appeal and source of revenue. Its a shame that the legacy of reb Dovid'l is thus..

The current BP Skver Rebbe is basically a nice guy (vs the "firebrand" in New Square), not violent or inciting to, but the man is very unrealisitc. Mike Powers really hit the nail on the head, with his father, an 'eccentric' but very frum and never stole or bankrupted himself or anyone else. The new one, is infected by the 'centerfold' pornographic pictures in the Hamodia/Yated/ Yiddish papers etc. which is part of the landscape

Reading the 'list' (of people getting screwed by this bankruptcy) we see so many small Chasidishe busineses, who can't afford this. The icing on the short-cake: The teachers....
