Racist Rabbi's Yeshiva Should Be Closed Because It Is A "Source Of Terrorism," Senior IDF Officer Says
GOC Central Command Avi Mizrahi said Saturday that the yeshiva in the West Bank settlement of Yitzhar must be shut down since it functions as a source of terror that must be dealt with. Mizrahi stated that several of the Od Yosef Chai yeshiva leaders hold views that are not “consistent with democracy,” although they represent only a small minority of the overall settler community. Mizrahi went on to characterize settler attacks on Palestinian residents of the West Bank as “Jewish terror,” and implored the courts to do more in order to support security forces in deterring such events from occurring.

IDF officer: Yeshiva in West Bank settlement harbors 'Jewish terror' and must be shut down
GOC Central Command Avi Mizrahi says Yitzhar yeshiva leaders’ views not consistent with democracy.

GOC Central Command Avi Mizrahi said Saturday that the yeshiva in the West Bank settlement of Yitzhar must be shut down since it functions as a source of terror that must be dealt with.
Speaking to ‘Meet the Press’ on Channel 2 television, Mizrahi stated that several of the Od Yosef Chai yeshiva leaders hold views that are not “consistent with democracy”, although they represent only a small minority of the settler community.
Mizrahi went on to characterize settler attacks on Palestinian residents of the West Bank as “Jewish terror”, and implored the courts to do more in order to support security forces in deterring such events from occurring.
A Yitzhar spokesperson responded to the statements, saying that Mizrahi should refrain from acting as a judge set on persecuting membersof the yeshiva.
Yitzhar has become known as one of the most radical settlements in the West Bank. Rabbi Yitzhak Shapira, one of the heads of Od Yosef Chai, was detained last year on suspicion of incitement following the publication of his book, "Torat Hamelech," which called for the killing of non-Jews who seek to harm Israel, but was not charged with any crime.
Right, and all those mosques, madrassas and Arab universities are just bastions of hope, love and tolerance.

You've missed the point, Garnel. Israel can only credibly criticise the dangerous and institutionalised hate within Arab culture if it cleans up its own... The enemy is not Arab or Israeli, Muslim or Jew. The enemy is hate and intolerance - wherever it occurs.

sure, right, that's why we would be entitled to our own monsters! no?
that's why we are chosen, chosen to outclass all the monsters of the world!
that's where those idiots excell. neshomos.
some neshomos. (100% refined sitro achoro).

Both of you missed the point.
Israel is showing no interest in enemy hate and intolerance, only its own. It's so worried that a small of group of Jews are preaching hate towards Arabs and barely noticing that Arab society en masse is preaching hate towards Jews, even those Arabs under Israeli control.
It's the soft racism of the intellectual left: God forbid we permit any Jewish racists to exist but the Arabs? Well we can't have such expectations from those primitives. They're not capable of better.

Because one Jewish Israeli nutcase justifies the actions of a hundred Arab ones.

All I'm saying is that the hundred Arab ones should face the same level of condemnation from the folks who are so exercised about this Jewish one.

there is plenty of awareness of the vicious hate and revisionist history being taught in arab schools. there are groups who publicize it on a daily basis and i commend them. however, that doesnt change the fact that there are yeshivas teaching kids hateful things as well. and when alumni of these schools feel justified in disobeying the IDF , that presents a very serious problem.
the solution to hate and intolerance is not ensuring that both sides have equal hate and intolerance. it is that both sides should have none. and if you want to maintain the moral high ground you must expunge the racism from your own side regardless of what is being fomented on the other side. at the same time, israel has every right to defend itself and i'm not advocating a position of suicide. however the opposition to the enemy must be based on their actions and not on their race or religion.

I'm all for free speech except allowing this Looney Tune Rabbi Shapira to lead a yeshiva in the West Bank is akin to allowing a lunatic to play with matches in a crowded theatre filled with amonium nitrate and fuel oil.

All the Stalins take the IDF general's cue and come out of the woodworks for this one. "Not consistent with Democracy" Wow, we are in true Orwell territory.
Oh and don't forget "all those attacks" by Jews on judean and samarian arabs, well , we can't forget what never happened. When Betzelem burnt a few prayer rugs in a mosque to frame rightwing settlers, that does not qualify as a Jewish terror attack.

Garnel Ironheart, Nice try changing the subject, AH.
