Missing camper found in Staten Island mall
WAWARSING - A Hasidic family whose son vanished from a summer camp in Ulster County is breathing a sigh of relief today after he was found safe and sound.
At least 80 searchers combed the woods around Camp Beth Yitzochok in Wawarsing today for 14-year-old Moishe Dressner.
Police say the teenager disappeared at around 11 p.m. last night and was reported missing early this morning.
Much to his parents' relief, Moishe was found in New York City this afternoon.
Capt. Michael Freer, of the Ulster County Sheriff's Office, says the teen called his parents from a mall in Staten Island, allowing them to trace the call and dispatch officers to pick him up.
Police say they believe the teenager took a taxi to the mall. There is no word yet on why he took off.

He was trying to escape from the cult?

He needed a break from Talmud study. Sometimes just a walk in the mall can clear one's head. To the average man a shopping mall is a commonplace thing. But no doubt this kid was forbidden to enter shopping malls since it was not one of the prescribed stores approved for Hassidic shopping. Consequently while it was a shopping mall to me, it was probably Disney Land to him.

Scotty, the "orthodox" press has placed a major blackout on this story. It has basically disappeared from VIN, YWN, Kol Mevaser etc....
You gotta believe that this story stinks to high heaven. This is where you can put your investigative skills to good use.

5'10" and only 14 years old? He's a big kid! A commenter on SILive said that he worked at the mall and would often see the boy hanging out there with other kids.
Sounds like he just did not like camp and ran away to see his other friends or to be in a place he did like.

shmarya, why does Burich get a hat tip & not me???? I was the first to post on last article that the boy was found safe in Staten Island.
I can also tell you from inside sources, that the NY DA was so upset that Aron's attorney had him plead not guilty by reason of insanity that he's going to increase charges to first degree murder & try for the death penalty verdict in NY considering the heinous act & hoping to set a HUGE example w/ such a high profile case

Whoever told you that is wrong.
The DA can charge murder one until he has the forensics and evidence ot back it up.
If had charged murder one today, the judge could have rejected the charge.
No crime like this is charged at less than murder one – if and when the evidence supports it.
