Franklyn Snitow asserts taht the Skere Rebbe lacked the power to force anyone to follow his rules and says that Rebbe had no role in running Skvere institutions.

If I remember correctly, Snitow has worked on Orthodox communal issues with Nathan Lewin, Sholom Rubashkin's lead appellate attorney.

Snitow has much of Lewin's style – which involves misrepresentation and lies that are laughable to anyone familiar with the function and history of hasidic communities and New Square:

Sussman does come across a bit arrogantly for sure, but Snitow comes across like a pompous ass. Anyhow, Sussman wouldn't be where he is today if he didn't have some ego.

I don't think Sussman can win this case. The Rebbe can always claim he did not know,all this was going on behind his back. Since the charge of proof is upon Sussman, I do not think he will succeed.

I suppose it would have been more promising to file a suit against the Waad members and people who threatened, one by one.

So it might be that the whole thing will cause a lot of negative media attention and the Rebbe does not like it, but I am definitely sure he will be aquitted.

Furthermore, Sussman gets heated in the debate. That's a bad sign for an attorney.

Snitow is always called in to defend chassidic outrages. Years back there were some children from Belgium who were kidnapped by their religiously fanatic father from their no-longer-observant mother and hidden by Hassidim in Monroe and Bedford Hills, and Snitow defended the kidnamppers.
