Toldos Aharon Rebbe Forces 2 Plaintiffs To Pull Out Of Kiryas Joel Lawsuit
“The Rebbe is a pious, peace loving person who would never violate a single ruling of the Shulchan Aruch. It disturbed him to no end that in violation of halacha one of his shtieblech somehow got entangled in a federal lawsuit against a Chassidic village. The Rebbe made it known that under no circumstances will he ever allow one of his congregations to be a named plaintiff in the KJ lawsuit. ‘If anyone has any grievances,’ the Rebbe said, ‘then they should seek to resolve them in a din Torah."
Accoding to Ami Magazine as cited by VIN:
…Congregation TA is a Toldos Aharon affiliated religious corporation, which operates a shteibel in Kiryas Joel. When the Toldos Aharon Rebbe learned that a congregation associated with his movement had unwittingly joined a lawsuit against Kiryas Joel, the Rebbe was adamant that it withdraw from the suit forthwith.
Rav Aharon Samet, one of the Toldos Aharon Rebbe’s aides told Ami: “The Rebbe is a pious, peace loving person who would never violate a single ruling of the Shulchan Aruch. It disturbed him to no end that in violation of halacha one of his shtieblech somehow got entangled in a federal lawsuit against a Chassidic village. The Rebbe made it known that under no circumstances will he ever allow one of his congregations to be a named plaintiff in the KJ lawsuit. ‘If anyone has any grievances,’ the Rebbe said, ‘then they should seek to resolve them in a din Torah.’…
The lawsuit alleges that Kiryas Joel uses its government resources to discriminate against religious dissidents and to unconstitutionally enforce religious laws.
The suit calls for the dissolution of Kiryas Joel.

Very nice, this should be an example to others.

An upcoming movie:
"A Day Without a Rabbi"
Synopsis
One day Jews wake up and not a single Rabbi is left in the world. They have all inexplicably dissappeared, chaos, tragedy, and comedy quickly ensue.
Storyline:
A thick fog surrounds the world, communication lines are cut off, and the Rabbis disappear: workers, spouses, and business owners are missing. Cars are abandoned in the street, food is left cooking on the stove. We meet the wife of a rabbi who's gone, a government official whose rabbi doesn't show up a meeting, and a farm owner whose produce is ripe but not not blessed yet. A scientist asks any Rabbis who haven't disappeared to volunteer for genetic experiments: a female rabbi and the daughter of the rabbi may be the only missing links around. Why them? And where have all the Rabbis gone? Even the Nazis grieve. The world and its economy grind to a halt.
Coming soon to the theatre near you ;)

I am all for disputes of this nature being adjudicated by an impartial beit-din in accordance with the Torah laws. As for the laws of NY State, arbitration is permissible. The one time that I ever had anything to do with a din torah, I was truly impressed by the fairness and compassion that the dayanim demonstrated to both parties.

With respect to Gevezener Chusid's favoring adjudication by a beth din of "disputes of this nature", this is outrageous question-begging. The "dispute" is not a religious one and the beth din lacks the authority to dissolve Kiryas Joel.
The dispute here, plainly and simply, is that a theocratic political party has crawled into the shell of a municipality (just as Hitler's National Socialist political party occupied the preexisting shell of the Weimar Republic) and used the powers and authority of a governmental entity to abuse those who did not belong to the ruling group (as did Hitler). The only substantive differences are that Hitler took over an existing governmental structure while Kiryas Joel was specially created, and that Hitler took over a national government while the haredim have taken over a mere municipality.
Remember, please, that Hitler was duly elected as Chancellor, just as the officials of Kiryas Joel were. Remember also that Hitler used violent intimidation in pursuit of his electoral goals, as the officials of Kiryas Joel did.
The towns of Kiryas Joel, New Square, and the like are arrogantly Hitlerish in every aspect of their establishment and conduct and were Hitler alive today he would likely be proud of the way that Jews, his mortal enemies, saw fit to copy him.

The town will never be dissolved. Sussman will walk away with a large settlement fee to feed his fat stomach. While us suckers will get zilch

There is a Mr. Samet from KJ who was convicted of rackateering in Federal Court and given 25+ years. Any relation to the Samet in the article.

Pathetic. The Din Torahs ARE the problem. Too bad the Toldos Aharon Rebbe does not understand English and can't read about what is going on there (the bulk of the 56 page lawsuit).
This is just another example of the extreme social intimidation used by theocracies to control people.

While it;s disgusting what's happening in NS and KJ and any moral person has a duty to protest, any moral human being also has to protest when someone throws around Hitler similarities. Hitler killed 6,000,000 Jews don't trivialize that by comparing to one mafia hit and a couple of brothers fighting over billions in real estate. Mark from Short Hills your comments are as repugnant as the actions of Don Twersky!

Shmaryahooo!
Although I protest alot over here,I have yet to be named the reader of oposition,Yet Mr. Hitler's post doesn't even belong here. I too protest the above comment & it's author.

Dont be fooled Rebbe of Toldos Aharan goes wishy washy. He has a staunch follower in Williamsburg whom he purposely encourages to continute in court. Just ask one of his gabbaim.
He knew that he will get good coverage by providing this push, so he did it.
Also check back on all other stories with Toldos Aharon. He surely is not a strong believer or stands strongly behind going to Beth Din vs. the stairs. AGAIN DONT BE FOOLED BY TOLDES AHARON REBBE> PULLING OUT OF COURT IS NOT HIS LINE.

I assume the TA shul in KJ got a heter arcaos. So if he objected he should have stated his disagreement with the heter arcaos. Smells like a politically motivated decision, like not having the stomach to fight Satmar-North.
