The ignorance here is appalling. Genital mutilation is no joke, and is directly responsible for over 100 unnecessary deaths in the U.S. every year. It is obvious that you people who are referring to this comic as "anti-semetic" have missed the point entirely. Forced infant circumcision is a direct violation of a child's Constitutional right to choose their own religion. I was circumcised at birth under my Jewish parents approval and now regret it being done to me very much. As an adult I now choose not to follow Judaism, but I am left with a scar and the permanent damage that was forced upon me. Let every human being choose the fate of their own body and religious affiliation.

I really think that people need to realize that this is just a comic book and that this guy is only standing up for what he feels is right. There is nothing wrong with that. Do you even know why you circumcise your children? What the reason is? Check your history. Do you really still think that Lilith/Lillu is going to kill your first born son? In any case, it is a Jewish practice and should not be forced onto Christians and other non-Jewish peoples. Plain and simple.

You have to keep in mind why Jews circumcise: circumcision was part of the Old Covenant. Orthodox Jews do not believe that the Messiah has come yet, so they follow the Old Covenant commands.

I do not see any reason for circumspection these days, because the Messiah, Jesus has come (the Old Covenant was preparation for the New Covenant- circumcision was a sign that Israel was the one nation God chose to bless all nations- Genesis chapters 12, 15, 17. There are many other details, but it will take too much time to get into for this topic.) Of course, Orthodox Jews do not believe this, so they hold fast to the Abrahamic Covenant teachings.

"Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

The average Jew would have understood this analogy- a physical tradition use to bring the point home that their heart wasn't right with God.

I can go on and on with passages about what Paul said in the New Testament, but I think it would suffice to say, it is no longer needed.

That being said, I must say if I get married and have any sons, I will not have them circumcised. Not needed- I am under the New Covenant, so I will teach my kids the whole Bible. They can choose when they become adults.

Now remember, according to the command God gave Moses, God commanded for circumcision to be done on the 8th day of his life. There is a medical reason why--- it will heal faster than any other time in the guys life. From what I understand, the vitamin K level is 30% for the first 7 days, and on the 8th day, up to 110%, then day 9 and the rest of his life, 80% (Been a long time since I learned this, to the %s may be slightly off).

Oh, by the way, I was circumcised at birth, and I have no problem with that.

This kind of comic is pathetic, I must say.
