That author is interesting.

YL - as an author he may be interesting, but as a human being he's a lowlife.

I thought you would be reading Protocols of the Elders of Zion

Why would you think that? Protocols is an antisemitic fabrication. Exposing frumma crime and misdeeds as in this blog is a mitzvah.

Just because someone is frei doesn't mean he or she is anti-Semitic!

Shamarya is one of the most courageous human beings I know and he has helped the Orthodox world come to terms with its inner demons.
I have always found him to be respectful toward others--unlike many others here on this website who routinely (and mindlessly) resort to making gratuitous ad hominem attacks on any person they do not personally like.
You can also identify a mentsch--by how he treats other human beings. A menstch treats people with kindness and decency.
Shamarya is a mentsch and a friend; he is deserving of all our praise and support.
For those who delight in speaking lashon hara and motzi shem ra, this week's parsha teaches a timeless lesson: If you cannot say anything nice about a person, then keep your hostile thoughts to yourself.
