Little can be inferred from the order or the speed in which it was rendered. SMR may well get some relief by the Court of Appeals-The little that some might infer (possibly incorrectly) is that the COA panel was not outraged by the Trial Court's rulings.

Please be very careful what you pray for.

There's an ancient Jewish teaching, that if one prays for unjustified harm to come to another, G-d may cause the indentical harm to rebound on the one offering the prayer and spare the innocent party.

Sage, I'm no legal expert, but I am sure SMR's lawyers did what their client wanted them to do.
There's no down side to the appeal for bail, other than the legal cost, and SMR can always count on the robotic sheep to hand over their money for his bills.
The sheep also get excited when they see a fancy document appealing for bail, and they hand over more money, and so it helps keep pumping the fools for money.
No down side at all for SMR.

Nevertheless, when you homogenize together Hitler, and the US justice systems, which is the fairest system for Jews, going back all the way, since when any justices took hold in human history, I will call you out, as a despicable human being. Then you have a few of same people that post over and over the same stuff about Rubashkin and Orthodoxy its the same thing to them, in General I guess things didn't work out in their communities or their lives where they were raised, but that is another story. What's "going on here" is I posted a judicial ruling – just like I posted Rubashkin's motion for bail and the government's response to it.

As for my 'business relationship' with the Rubashkins, I've written about ir many times.

Briefly, the kosher butcher shop in St. Paul was about to go out of business.

I was encouraged to buy it, and Sholom Rubashkin offered me all the non-glatt meat I could sell at his cost – as long as I used a normal markup scale to price it.

The idea was that kosher meat would be as cheap as non-kosher meat, and Jews would start keeping kosher.

I agreed, bought the store (with a partner, because that is what the local rabbi wanted), and we ordered the non-glatt meat.

Rubashkin refused to ship it to us.

Agriprocessors had just signed a distribution deal with a distributor whose rabbi objected to non-glatt meat being sold in the Twin Cities.

That rabbi and a proxy took me and my partner to beit din twice and lost twice, and he did everything he could do to hurt our business.

He's now one of Rubashkin's biggest backers, BTW – but then his contention was that non-glatt meat was almost treife.

As for your contention of heavy censorship here, anyone reading the comments sections can easily see that very little censorship takes place.

IMHO the plan all along has been for Lewin to use his influence with his friend Scalia and have this case brought before the Supreme Court. They will use the Rubashkin case to examine a)when a judge should recuse and b)sentencing guidelines used by judges in such cases. The only question is whether a majority on the court will agree to hear the case. Given the can or worms this could open second guessing lower courts where previous tough sentences were handed down, Scalia will have a difficult time convincing his colleagues on the bench.

You might be right in that Lewin may be pursuing one of his lofty causes and getting the Rubashkin supporters to pay for it. I tried to find out how district judges were involved in the planning and initial arraignments in other large workplace raids, such as Swift Marshalltown, Michael Bianco New Bedford, and Howard Industries Laurel. In those cases ICE did not build facilities to detain immigrants; they used military facilities or a privatized ICE detention facility. Nobody seems to have documented how much the judges were involved before the search warrants were issued.

In the Marshalltown raid, there was lawsuits filed against the feds for violating legal workers' rights. So I can see a federal judge demanding proof that the detention and arraignment facilities being built were legal. But was it necessary to bring in another judge to do that? That is an interesting question. The Supreme Court justices might find it is worth looking into.

The 2 verses you quote mean nothing remotely similar to the way you wish you apply it. You would be right if you study the Chmash the way christians do. Jewish people have the oral tradition and the rabbinic commentary. If you use these 2 pesukim to justify the behavior of you, WoolSilkCotton et al, you clearly have no idea as to the basic midos and halachos of the Torah. Sad but true.
