Molester Of 2 Boys In Brooklyn Shul Arrested
Apparently a dayan of the religious court of the Belzer hasidim turned him in.
Nuchem Rosenberg is reporting that a Belzer dayan (rabbinic judge) turned in the molester to police. The pedophile molested two boys in a Belzer synagogue in Borough Park, Brooklyn last week. The story made the New York Post Saturday.
This most likely means the 19-year-old pedophile [whose name I have redacted until it is confirmed] was known to leaders and was turned in after a beit din (or this dayan alone) gave permission.

A Brooklyn teen, accompanied by his rabbi and a lawyer, surrendered today in the molestation of a youngster in the basement of a Borough Park synagogue.
Menachem Deutsch, 19, was charged with unlawful imprisonment and child endangerment in the June 22 attack, authorities said.
Deutsch, dressed in traditional Hasidic attire, allegedly lured a 12-year-old boy walking home from school into Simcha Hall, in the basement of a synagogue at 15th Avenue and 50th Street, authorities said.
Once inside, Deutsch brought the boy into a basement bathroom and allegedly groped and molested the child over the course of an hour.
Apparently the family of the second child may have withdrawn their complaint. Or it may be Deutsch is only admitting to one molestation.
Thats not the case
After hearing about the Incident, they reviewed the list of all people who fit the description. After a few hours of hard work they located the suspect approached him and gave him over the the police.

when I first read this story, I couldn't believe that they didn't install security cameras in that shull.
Thank god he was caught, and I hope this well serve a warning to everyone.

Thats not the case
the second child did not withdraw his claim, however the second child ran away and can only charge with unlawful imprisonment and child endangerment

there is also a report on www.nuchemisright.blogspot.com that the belzer rabbi from Israel was invovled and forced the dayan to have him arrested.

belzer- youre naive if untill now with all the publisizing of molestations it occured then it will occur well into the future no matter what they do, this is the way i see it, they all think they will never get caught so they dont care.

The DA should offer Deutsch a reduced sentence if he turns in his molester and agrees to testify against him. Since Deutsch is only 19, he is still within the SOL.

the molester gets off the street
the molested feels safer
By turning himself in hopefully the molester will maybe see jail time but more importantly shows he has remorse and hopefully will get the help he needs
If he did turn himself in that means he is open to help and then whatever help he gets has a better chance of working then if he was forced.
Not sure what led up to this but maybe he really had remorse and want to his Rebbie and said I want to turn myself in. Most likely

I’m a strong supporter of fighting against molestation. The first priority should always be the safety of the child, but I dont see why you need to advertise his information and the surrounding families.
He turned himself in, did the right thing. he will now go through the system, why does his family have to suffer the additional trauma of being outed with every detail.
I believe you are doing a disservice by publicizing this, people can justify hiding perpetrators because they want to save the families kavod.
Its no matter who did it and who his father is or mother is, all it counts is that he did a terrible crime and he should pay for it.

Chusid, isn't it admirable that for the first time, the Rabbonim took a stand despite the perp coming from the largest dynasty in Belz? It makes it so much more historic. And besides, if you know the perp, you know the family. If you don't, then it doesn't matter - the names mean nothing to you. Let's not get caught up on the details, but on the amazing moment in history.
