A Hasidic thug who savagely beat an elderly Orthodox Jewish man during a dispute in Borough Park nearly six years ago was convicted of robbery yesterday for his role in the vicious attack. NYPD cops initially refused to charge Farkas, who is Hasidic, when he was first arrested on the evening of Aug. 18, 2005, soon after the attack -- a decision that came after 20 Hasids descended on the 66th Precinct station house.

A Hasidic thug who savagely beat an elderly Orthodox Jewish man during a dispute in Borough Park nearly six years ago was convicted of robbery yesterday for his role in the vicious attack.
A Brooklyn Supreme Court jury yesterday found Isidore Farkas, 40, guilty of robbery for taking the $800 digital camera of Harold Weinberg, 76, a civil engineer.
NYPD cops initially refused to charge Farkas, who is Hasidic, when he was first arrested on the evening of Aug. 18, 2005, soon after the attack -- a decision that came after 20 Hasids descended on the 66th Precinct station house.
"It took a long time in coming. it was a fair verdict," said Weinberg.
Farkas faces a minimum of 3½ years -- and a maximum of 15 --in prison.

I have no reason whatsoever to believe the assault rate among hasidic jews is one iota higher than amongst the general (non-jewish) population. (In fact, I have good reason to suspect it to be FAR lower). Nevertheless, one case is one case too many - and calls for a chesbon hanefesh.

but in other communities you do not have hundreds show up at the police to make sure the perpetrator does not get arrested

alot of theese hassidim are still in the wilderbeast stage pure animals who cant control themselfs weather its molesting or going berserk they need to be taught a lesson this guy should get minimum 10 years in jail.
