A Brooklyn girl was robbed of her teenage years by a gang of creeps who repeatedly raped her, beat her and pimped her out, prosecutors said Wednesday. But the brave teen - who was brutalized for eight years starting at 13 - still managed to finish school, enroll in college and gather the strength to report the horrific abuse.

A Brooklyn girl was robbed of her teenage years by a gang of creeps who repeatedly raped her, beat her and pimped her out, prosecutors said Wednesday.
But the brave teen - who was brutalized for eight years starting at 13 - still managed to finish school, enroll in college and gather the strength to report the horrific abuse.
"It's hard to imagine something more terrible than this," said her college professor, a former prosecutor and the first person the victim confided with.
The Orthodox Jewish girl from Crown Heights was first raped in a park by Damien Crooks, 31, and Jamali Brockett, 27, in 2003, according to court records. Jawara Brockett, 33, joined them in raping the teen in 2007, and Darrell Dula, 24, did the same in 2010 after she refused to help Crooks recruit other girls for prostitution, prosecutors said.
All four have been arrested and were charged Wednesday.
Until recently, the suspects continually threatened to harm her family if she reported them. When she was forced to have sex with strangers, they kept all the money.
Crooks "even sold her on the street for $20 to a passerby," said Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes.
She decided to come forward after Crooks told her he'll do the same things to her younger sister, prosecutors said.
Despite this horrid ordeal, the victim managed to pull through and seek a degree in criminal justice.
"She did a great job segregating whatever happened in her life," said the college professor. "She's incredibly smart."
Crooks, who has 37 prior arrests and six convictions, was ordered held on a $1 million bail by Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Joseph McKay.
"The recitation of what he's charged with is frightening. Very very frightening," the judge said.

Even when blacks do the most heinous crimes, I still don't believe that blacks in general are so heinous. I don't see a culture of rape and cruelty and evil in the black community. In fact, only 1 in a million blacks are such evil people. The rest of the blacks are upstanding law-abiding family-oriented citizens.
It's when the hareidis do this kind of stuff that we need to assume that they are all the same. When even one hareidi rapes a child, one needs to assume that every other hareidi does the same, or at least wishes they can do the same, or at least knew about it and covered up for the perpetrator, or at least would have covered for the perpetrator if they knew about it, or at least would agree to someone else covering for the perpetrator, or at least in general condones such behavior, or at least is in some other way evil. I mean, seriously, they are hareidi, so they must all be evil.
But if you dare say this about blacks, you are a racist.

This is indeed an evil, terrible crime and the perpertrators should be locked away for life.
Perhaps the reason that this crime went on as long as it did is because:
(a) Charedim have a culture of not going to the police and
(b) The girl would be seen by her family and her community as "damaged goods" and would not be able to get a shidduch should the crime be exposed.
Having said that, I wish her all the best. Unlike most Charedim at least she is going to college and will be able to get a job.

Way more than fear was at work here. This is actually common in sex trafficking of American girls. You get cut off. Your mind shuts down. You are not operating with free will. You become numb and are so violated at times since no one cares or cared into believing you deserve the life you are in.
I do not expect most of you to understand this. You really have to know these kids and have spent time with them as well as rescued them. But it is a horror story and she woke up by one of the trigger avenues that does awaken girls enslaved. They threatened her sister.
Often the only thing a young girl can hold onto is that she feels she is protecting her siblings younger than her from Daddy or whomever. So they stay for leaving for them abandons their little sisters to the evil one whether it be Aba or an Uncle or thugs, etc.
They are dug in and sacrifice their life in their mind to protect others they love. Since the outside world is not there in any meaningful way for real support. By that I mean all she can see are some occassional news articles if she is lucky, these kids know there is no where to turn for help.
Number one of the list off the list are the Police. The risk of going to them exposes the sister in their minds. The rest of quote any community is essentially worthless and kids know there is no help coming from there. You have to do more than simply talk. You must react, protect and be willing to go up against these people face to face. The blow back at you is immense. THe helpers which frankly to this day you cannot find face death threats, attacks, threats to family , etc.
In a word, her story is actually common in the world of sex slavery. In a word, part of the norm.

I think Naomi Ragen wrote a book about a similar theme - about a girl in Borough Park who is raped by a black man. If I remember correctly, she is afraid to tell anyone about the rape because of how she fears she will be viewed and treated by the community.
My heart goes out to this girl.

The contrast between this piece of news and those that occur within the community is that you do not bring up children to *trust* outsiders. Abuse within the community is too often by someone highly respected who has hidden his proclivities so well that all others rally round him instead of the victimised individual, who is then demonized as a fabricator, or worse. And if accused by those outside the community, why then it couldn't possibly be true! Many kinds of criminals masquerade as decent upstanding citizens with strong ties to a community base, and the more naive or blinkered those around them, then the more they will proliferate.

maybe, but its not like this girl was kidnapped from her village in Nigeria-this happened in Clown Heights-how did her PARENTS not know what was going on?-why didnt THEY go the police??-school, friends, etc etc-if God forbid someone would harm my daughters then either that person or I would be in a cemetery the next day-where the FUCK was her father?-there is just stuff here that doesnt add up???

Clown Heights is indeed a third world country, and part of it is JewLand, and so American laws and social norms don't apply anywhere in that part of the world.
The story is too weird. Considering that Lubav girls are totally sheltered and can't even go near Lubav boys, much less any 'other' boys, how did all this happen? Parents, family, and friends never noticed anything?
The Shomrim know what everyone is having for breakfast. They had no idea?
