Michael Sussman, the attorney for New Square arson victim Aron Rottenberg, says the Rockland County D.A. is not prosecuting David Twersky, the Skvere Rebbe, because of the hasidic bloc vote.

What's are the three greates priorities here ?

(1) For Aron Rottenberg to heal from his injuries and for his family to feel safe. This will need funding. i.e. Compensation. A civil case will do this or prior settlement.

(2) For all plans of further violence in the community to cease.

(3) For all the Skeverer sect members to radically shift their mindset to a higher calling, i.e. World Peace 2050.

I could see one of the wacko simpleton followers lose it when confronted with a non-believer of the "great" rabbi, but to really believe that the rebbe would call for the murder of a family? I just don't see it as factual.

No Adam, you've missed one of the biggest ones. The guilty have to be brought to justice. Until that happens they'll keep doing crime. The more impunity they have, the worse it will be.

This is EXACTLY why there are Federal prosecutions. Local law enforcement can be corrupted by local political pressure.

Adam Neira is a lost cause, why would you even try to explain to him that if someone creates an environment that is conducive to violence he is as guilty as the person who committed the crime.

The Rockland county D.A. sounds like another Charles Hynes. That's one of the drawbacks of elected prosecutors. They're corruptible.

creating an atmosphere is NOT the same in US law as committing a criminal act like this, AFAIK.

However the public creation of an atmosphere as occurred in New Square, would seem to at least justify a grand jury investigation of the possibility of a conspiracy going well beyond the butler, and AFAIK the Rockland DA has not yet initiated that.
