Williamsburg Hasidim Protest Chabad Beauty Salon–In Crown Heights

The owner of this Crown Heights beauty salon is opening a branch on Lee Avenue in Williamsburg. Protests there meant to stop the beauty salon from opening have so far failed, and the Williamsburg modesty protesters have moved their protest to Crown Heights as a result.

The proprietor of the salon is entitled to establish her business in that street. I'm sure it is a professionally run and modest establishment. The signs stating that M.M.Schneerson is not Moshiach are correct. The kid on the bike in the video has turned up because there is a bit of action in the street, as kids do. The cops look like they know the chance of violence is low and it is not one of their dangerous call outs for the day. Without too much imagination it is possible to envisage all the guys in black having a dance together. Techno, klezmer or chazzan music I'm not sure. None of the signs mention Moshiach which is also a tad disappointing. If this was a football game the Lubavitchers look more composed.

also just do not patronize the store and will go out of business
even satmar ladies like to look good when they go to a simcha

PS as long as they not block my driveway when they have a simcha and do not bother me when I walk my dogs or walk out in the summer only with short pants I have no problem

Lubavitcher friends of mine have complained to me that their wives and daughters are wearing miniskirts and that the style in crown heights is for women and girls to wear skirts that do not go down to their knees and that there is a beauty shop owner in crown heights that is promoting this style and other non-tzniut styles in order to make money. I think that when someone decides to set up a business somewhere, they have to take into account several factors, one of which is the reaction of the local people. If the local people are against it, then the shop owner should really reconsider the whole idea. At the end of the day it comes down to business, if there are customers it will justify the move. The local people can voice their disapproval by not going to the shop and giving them any money, without business, they will have no choice but to leave.
