"Peg" removed the ban on Ahger"ah: signed against the weeklies
In light of yesterday's meeting between family CEO, Eli wonders, with Rabbi Nissim Karelitz - Morning Advertiser Yated Ne'eman another letter against the weeklies, Achsahpam also topped the signature of Ahger"ah Kanievsky ● Ahger"ah, like many miracles, is not the way at the stage in "Ted". Why has exceeded the newspaper habit? (Square, Newspapers)

Despite the blow suffered, the Yated Neeman not surrender and continue the battle against magazines headed by a "family" as if nothing has changed.
Letter of Rabbi Nissim Karelitz Lithuanian already posted twice daily this week, a call not to give legitimacy magazines Ahmslapim the rotating view including "Family", published this morning joins referendums, the first time, the signature of Maran Ahger"ah Kanievsky.
It should be noted that even Maran Ahger"ah Kanievsky, as well as Rabbi Nissim Karelitz, are not considered fans of the Journal of the Degel Hatorah movement, respectively, too little to give them a public stage. Just recently, the eve of Passover, also refused to publish a religious ruling of the two.
Therefore, the fact that the Yated Neeman formulated the letter against the "family" magazines is considered a success and hits hard to home Ahger"ne Vahger"ah, who recently collaborated with the magazine.
However, It should be emphasized, the last word in this case has not yet spoken.
Yesterday, as reported in "Sabbath Square" newspaper director came to me the wonders of the home of Rabbi Nissim Karelitz rabbi to explain his position and consult with him. With the CEO and other senior newspaper arrived, along with spiritual committee members. At the meeting, it became known, decided to search for an agreed solution to this soon and probably will have been off the newspaper Control Committee.
According to sources related to the affair, the letter in "true religion" can be without the knowledge of the home of the rabbi and represents their position. On - estimated that the signature in-law got a rabbi, Rabbi Yosef Chaim Kopshic close to the Lithuanian daily.

Why?
Posted by: who knows | May 05, 2011 at 08:58 PM
It hadda happen sooner or later. Despite its fervent pro yeshiva-kollel propaganda Mishpacha has an annoyingly independent streak; it posts articles about jewish communities in far out locations accross the globe for one that (horrors!) may have different practices than us; it's children's magazine often has articles about other parts of the world without even any jewish content (horrors! our kids might find out that other people actually exist! And it has even been known on occasion to advise readers not to turn their backs on their non frum or OTD relatives.

in keeping with this strategy the haredi rabbis put out a new pashkevil demanding everyone buy blindfolds and earplugs and learn the following phrase,
"i cant see you, i cant hear you, i'm not listening. "

And, we must not forget, they had front page articles featuring R' Hershel Shachter and Dr David Pelcovitz. Chas V'sholom any YU information should find its way into a Jewish home.
OY OY OY!

If you notice, the pronouncement bans ALL newspapers and ALL weeklies and ALL magazines. Also ALL radios and ALL Internet sites. The problem is not Mishpacha, per se. It's any reading material that's not a primary Torah text.

They have once had a front cover of R' Slifkin (before the ban but they should have known)

There's a slim chance that FM will get banned too. So Stop Gloating

OTD relatives?
Posted by: seymour | May 06, 2011 at 06:07 AM
Recently, they were constantly writing articles, about, regular Frum Yeshiva and Chasideshe guys, who don't believe that the TORAH IS REAL.
This topic should have been, a No No.
Big Mistake.

Funny, because R' Karelitz, the primary signator on the pashkevil, was recently given a glowing profile (what else?) in Mishpacha's Pesach mega issue:

I wonder if there should be, some legal peg for prosecutors to restrain these manipulating "rabbis" from perpetrating these acts of abuse on their devotees. To maintain that something akin to National Geographic (without the breasts) is not-kosher and therefore must not be read, is in effect a denial of basic human knowledge. Time has come for the rabbi/pashkvil problem to be addressed by the country's criminal law.

It is well known that many "bans" that are "signed by Rabbis" is a result of the "accusations" presented to the Rabbis without the true facts. Many of the Rabbis are mislead.
For readers of this blog that read Hebrew, I would highly suggest reading the following article posted on an isreali website. This will clarify the ban mentioned above and give great insight.

mishpacha's problem is that it is run by secular jews. paley is the only dati on board, but far from being charedi. he doesn't undertand the community and he believed he can out-smart the charedi elders.
