Monroe - State Police at Monroe have charged a 52-year-old Kiamesha Lake man with driving a 14-year-old boy to the America’s Best Value Inn located in the Town of Woodbury and having sexual contact with the child.

An investigator said the case began after the mother of the boy came to the State Police barracks in Monroe to report the incident. Police said the investigation showed that Joseph Gelbman, 52, of 191 Gibber Road in the Sullivan County community of Kiamesha Lake, had been at the motel on April 14 with the youngster.

Gelbman was arrested April 21 and charged with third-degree sexual abuse, forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child, all misdemeanors.

He was arraigned before Town of Woodbury Justice David V. Hasin and released on $1,500 bail.

Again, you have a long history – including several comments on this post – of attempting to smear me through Gleckman.

Either you answer the questions (which I'll post again for third time below) or you can kiss your career of attacking, smearing and insulting everyone here goodbye.

This is completely unknowable by mere mortals. Sometimes the apple can fall far away from the tree. The KGB officer that beat the Previous Rebbe in prison was also 'gezhe' from a very fine family. It is also entirely possible his ancestors sexually abused the little Gleckman (they were, after all 'chareidim') and so he grew up a criminal. Again – unknowable.

If his progeny shows similarly evil trates, one could legitimately suspect these traits were inherited.

Mental illness is just that – 'illness' and doesn't speak about the person's character. Crime does. Nevertheless, family origins have a very strong effect and most people are certainly very cautious about making shidduchim with people from families with a history of mental illness.

You see, you aren't honest.

Unlike basic criminality, mental illness is often genetic. Your dead rebbe's family is chock full of mentally ill people. Therefore it would be understandable for scholars and observers to look at that history and at the Rebbe's bizarre behavior and conclude there is a strong possibility the dead messiah was mentally ill.

However, actions that are not genetic have no real impact of future generations unless the person doing those actions impacts future generations through personal contact, or unless a society endorses those actions. An example of that were the stock and investment scams common in frum communities in the 1890s. The people who carried out those scams often remained as 'pillars' of the frum community even after the swindles became known. We see the impact of this (and of other similar things) today with the behavior of people like Jimmy Gourary or Gutnick.

But to say that someone should be tarred with the actions of of an ancestor who died many years before the person was born and who had no immediate family members involved in those actions – indeed, all were women and two of the three were minors when he died – is simply evil on your part.

But it seems you lack both the mentchlikeit and the intelligence to understand this.

Your very dead rebbe had a hevruta in the late 1940s. This hevruta – a rosh yeshiva, posek and gadol – became convinced the Rebbe was mentally ill. He didn't know about the history of mental illness in the Schneerson family. He based his judgement on his extensive personal contact with the Rebbe. That same conclusion was also reached by Chana Gourary and Barry Gourary – long before the book issue existed.

That means that most of the people who knew him well thought he was crackers.

Yet you be among the first to attack and try to smear anyone who make the case that Menachem Mendel Schneerson was mentally ill.

You should think about that very carefully. Because your proclivity for smearing people you do not like may come back to haunt you – and by that I mean personally and for the people you think you are protecting.

This past Friday, April 27,the Orange County District Attorney, FrancisD. Phillips II, thru his ADA Jennifer P. Onofry, let the child molester Joseph Gelbman, cook at the Wiznitz Yeshivah, at Gibbers in Kiamesha, NY near Monticello, NY, completely off the hook.
As I reported last week, the evil future Wiznitz Rebbe, Israel Hager, who is himself alleged to be a sodomizer, offered $20,000 to the mother in exchange for dropping the charges, which she refused on my advice. Then the principal of the child’s school, Moshe Zeig and his teacher Benjamin Shtekel, threatened him that if he goes for the appointment with the DA or the Police, he will be expelled from school, which they did the next day, and when reproached, said that these were Israel Hager’s orders.
When I spoke this past Wednesday to the ADA at State Police barracks, she was very receptive, and even asked me to persuade the mother to give a deposition about the alleged bribe and threats. The all of a sudden, on the next day, Thursday, she started convincing the mother to drop the charges and let Gelbman get away with no penalty. When the mother told her that she wants to come to court on Friday morning to demonstrate her opposition to a plea bargain, the ADA told her that “there is nothing to come for, as nothing is going to happen on Friday, for they are only going to work on the details of the plea bargain”. Then in afternoon she was told that Gelbman was let go.

Child molestation is an epidemic in the "ultra orthodox" community ... There is nothing ultra or orthodox about men who prey on little kids.... I wouldn't trust my child with one of those sick, disturbed, rebbis..There are way too many cases that have become public and probably many more that go unreported for fear of retrobution....ONce a pedophile always a pedophile... waiting for the next opportunity .. Throw the whole lot of them in jail and let them deal with the prison population and see how they enjoy molestation...
