Even non-orthodox like Michael Savage and christians like Glenn Beck and many more say that the real jews are the black-hatted orthodox guys from Brooklyn who follow the Torah and the Shulchan Aruch. Without learning them you dont even know what it means to be a jew. Theres much more to it than going maybe once a year to synagogue (by car). All their ancestors abided by these laws and they think theyre smarter.
