WHITE PLAINS — East Ramapo School Board President Nathan Rothschild resigned from his position with the school district Friday amid charges accusing him of engaging in mail fraud while serving as the Monsey fire commissioner.
Rothschild appeared in Federal Court in White Plains earlier today, pleading not guilty to the felony charge, said Herb Hadad, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office.
East Ramapo Interim Superintendent of Schools Joel Klein said that to his knowledge, there are no allegations against Rothschild regarding any wrongdoing in East Ramapo.
Nathan is not the worst person on the school board in East Ramapo....look to the people who have the most to gain by his departure! Hint...curls!

Oh...before I forget, the feds should also check out the Ben Gilman Health Center where Nathan is also President of the Board. That place is flooded with Federal healthcare dollars. The Monsey FD is the least of the concerns...the big money is in ER and Ben Gilman!

monsey!! what do you expect?

Don't fret Pearl of Wisdom, things are about to get very hot in their frying pan. This is the very tip of the iceberg that will melt away and leave the cult members with a chance to think for themselves. They don't ALL agree with the Cult Rabbis. The leaders will all be treated to very long vacations in Federal Playgrounds.

Dave @ 11:57..Is this Failed Messiah's next "Rubashkin" ?

Dave, can you tell us more? I pay a lot of taxes in Rockland and my gut is that this school cult is using the multi million dollar budget for their own slush fund. We've complained to the Feds, but no luck yet. They just fired the school superintendent because he didn't agree with what they are doing. Now Rothschild resigns who also didn't agree with the black hats. Could it be they set him up?

I don't know if the charges are true or not, so I will judge him to the side of merit. Now I know there have been issues with the Orthodox Jews on the board such as Aron Weider causing chillul Hashem. What I would like to know, given my hunch that the public schools are not being treated properly, how the statewide and/or national test scores in the East Ramapo School District are with the frum controlled board as opposed to before. They have a fiduciary duty to every student in an East Ramapo Public School.

The tests are much lower with the Frum board and they tried to cut all day kindergarten, sports, music and foreign language. They are selling off the schools to Yeshivas, so most classes are quite overcrowded. More money is being spent for special education for which the Yeshivas get the greatest portion of the dollars and the agencies which are vendors for the special ed teachers/classes are Frum owned! Albany has visited several times and is finally getting involved in the scam, but not much is published yet. The worst part is the bussing since the public pays for private school bussing to any area in or out of state. The Frum board tried to fire the bus drivers and bring in their own busses, dirty and not maintained. Welcome to FrumSlum East Ramapo where the board members own the slums and don't provide heat or running water. (But that's another story.)

Devorah - thanks for the info, it is very disturbing. Is there any chance Cuomo will stand up to these bullies? Or do they have him in their back pocket?

It seems as though these NY Chasidim will sell their souls to the devil for a buck, as they make deals with Politicians that believe in everything in which they don't...gay marriage, pro-choice, etc...

Itchie, no one stands up to the Chasids in Rockland. We try to round up all legal East Ramapo residents to vote, but the Chasids bring in busses from Brooklyn who never changed their addresses, so we are always outnumbered. Plus, there is voter intimidation at the poles. Clinton pardoned the million dollar crooks on his last day of office, and I am afraid Cuomo will follow in Bill's footsteps. It's all about the bloc black hat vote.
Off to make my brisket! :)

I know you've heard this from the many people before, but please have a bit more patience. Things don't always happen as fast as they should.

Wish I knew what you know, Dave. How about a Pesach gift of knowledge if I find the Afikomen?

One of the Kollel Rebbeim where I am (St. Louis) ran for the schoolboard of the district in which most of the Orthodox Jews in St. Louis reside. I spoke to him at length about the topic of Chillul Hashem and he was very concerned about that aspect of things. While looking out for the interests of the Jewish community, he was committed to caring about the entire district and making a Kiddush Hashem. He garnered a decent share of the vote but did not win. He was actually somewhat relieved and I don't think he'll run again.

It is amazing when biases are so strong that information is actually made up. The comments are indicative that you guys have absolutely no clue what is going on in East Ramapo but have no problem spewing your verbal diarrhea. Your names would indicate that you are Jewish, but your souls are clearly aligned with the goyim who hate Jews. East Ramapo is plagued by a public school community that has no interest in giving the private Jewish community any of its educational rights. Your comment on special education is particularly perplexing since only about 3% of the Jewish community receive any special education services at present compared to the average demographic that receives between 11% and 15%. That is because for decades the Jewish special education students have not been accommodated. Transportation is also another legal right that East Ramapo MUST provide up to 15 miles for all of its residents and up to 50 miles for special education students. All of your baseless accusations stem from your complete ignorance. This board is responsible for the first time in ADDING full day kindergarten as well as many other educational initiatives for public school students that no one wants to give them credit for because of their "curls". Scores have increased, not decreased under this board. It is easy to check but you are not interested. Shame on you for becoming a self-hating Jew.

These are the hardcore simple facts.
Before the current orthodox board took over the majority, the graduation rates were dropping for the past 10 years. This last school year was the first year that it increased 5 percentage points, from 69% to 74%.
This current orthodox board more then tripled non-mandated full day kindergarten, from 4 classes to 15.
Hardcore facts… Please check them out yourselves…
