Rabbi Moti Elon to be charged with sex crimes
After police investigation, file submitted to J'lem District Prosecutors; decision to press charges comes six months later.

Jerusalem District prosecutors on Thursday said that following an investigation, it has decided to bring former Yeshivat Hakotel head Rabbi Mordechai Elon to trial for sex crimes against two of his underage students during the years 2003 and 2005.
Before filing charges, Elon will be given an opportunity to argue why he should not be charged.
The decision was authorized by Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein with the recommendation of the state prosecutor.
Police finished their investigation into Rabbi Mordechai "Moti" Elon in August of last year. Elon was accused of child molestation several months ago, and police found that there was sufficient evidence to connect him to the allegations.
Elon's attorney, Yair Golan, rejected the accusations, saying "a complete review will clarify that Rabbi Elon did not commit any crime, and ultimately will not be indicted. The rabbi will continue to fight for the truth and his good name."
The police submitted the case file to the Jerusalem District Prosecutor's office in August. Evidence was found alleging Elon committed indecent acts with two minors, one of them by force.
Police had recently reopened the investigations after a former student of the charismatic rabbi accused him of sexual abuse.
Ben Hartman contributed to this report.
so in regards to the story after this about the ban on women teaching 10 year olds, maybe men shouldnt teach either? I think to save evrybody, teachers regardless of sex, should wear a mickey mouse (not miney mouse) costume and teach in that with a voice box.

Apologies to the Police:
Young bochur, the subject
Of rabbi's fantasy
He wants him so badly
Knows what he wants to be
Inside him there's longing
This Rav's a respected sage
Clergy stalking - he's so close now
If true, it's an outrage
Don't stand, don't stand so
Don't stand so close to me
His colleagues, so jealous
You know how rabbis get
Sometimes it's not so easy
To be the rebbe's pet
Temptation, frustration
So bad it makes him schrei
Wet sukkah, he's waiting
Bet Midrash is warm and dry
Don't stand, don't stand so
Don't stand so close to me
Loshon Harah in the chatrooms
To warn they blog and blog
Strong words in the bathroom
The accusations flogged
It's no use, he sees him
He starts to pray and sway
Just like a female teacher in
That din by Avi Yossi
Don't stand, don't stand so
Don't stand so close to me
Don't stand, don't stand so
Don't stand so close to me

Shouldn't he have attended the Gay Shabbaton in New York last month ?

kids and parents were always falling over themselves trying to get into hakotel. little did they know their esteemed rabbi was treating it as his little boy harem (allegedly). didnt the special group of rabbis convened to handle matters like this say he admitted it to them? that would make for a tough case to defend.

Could somebody please name ONE case where a Jewish female teacher has molested one of her students?
No, you can't, because it's never happened.
Now... how many male teachers (often called "rabbis") can you name??
Posted by: Shlucha | February 10, 2011 at 02:19 PM
Shlucha, you can't name one single rabbi who did this. That's because a panel of distinguished "Big Names" can tell you that they know the man. He's a real tzaddik. All his accusers are full of kefira.

It happened in Australia about three years ago in a very haredi school. The victims were girls, though.

these dou..bags. should be required to wear condoms if they teach boys.
these poor delusional parents were practically throwing their kids at this animal so they could learn Torah from a "master", all for a good shidduch. What's a little peen between teacher and student, if the teacher gives a "loving" and glowing recommendation. After all, nobody knows how to touch a man like another man.
This pig should be shot.
